you may wan't to check out haspin acres in laurel in. one price pays for 24hrs, camping is free on site, bathrooms, showers, food, also some parts and welding on weekends from a trailer in the lot. haspin has around 750 acres, about 95% of it is trails, none are marked but there is always an easy way around because of the volume of trails (picture one large spaghetti bowl of trails).haspin is open 24hrs 7 days 365 a year.

the badlands are great but only open during the day. i would say more great things but most people already know. also the owners used to run the late great PARAGON.

redbird is hardcore hillbilly time, always a blast! the trails are tight and spooky and sometimes you have no easy choice. if you have a pretty truck stay on the main trails or be ready for body damage. warning if it's wet ALL trails are 4 to 5+, bring lockers f&r, winch, and anything that has broken before or can break. if dry the trails are from 1 to 5+.

interlake i realy don't know about but the ifwda convention will be there feb27-march 1. i am told it is like redbird but bigger. i will know in a few weeks.

the last one is semi-private but it is called the backwoods. camping on site. night rides. crazy rock ravines. if you can find it, go, it's worth it.

isnt there a new place in southern Indiana that is just opening? i think its down on 64. litchfeild or something like that????

On the other hand, I went to Redbird Newyears day this year. It was a great time. The ground was frozen but the top two inches was mud. Talk about traction issues. simple hill climbs were hard. The trails are tight also. We were folding mirros in on jeeps. It was a great time though. Ill be going back!

Private property primarily. Jackson Co. we have a pc. between Medora and Spraytown Pulaski Co. near Beaver on the river Ripley Co. out near the CC.

Been to the Badlands, Redbird, Haspin, etc. Work in the timber business so we meet lots of folks who want to sell their stumps and you have to get to them/see them to buy them. Makes for some fun every day and gets us outside even when we might not want to be.
With the "change" afoot we have seen some increased interests.

Badlands is nice for a day... can't really spend more then that up there. And the price kills it for me. Add an extra hour to my drive and i'm at Harlan so i Badlands ranks low for me :P

Now interlake is awesome for a day trip to me.. 60 miles away..

If we are lucky the'll get more of the rock trails opened up. Place has great potential.

YES it is allowed. i have been there hundreds of times in the last 15 years and trust me it is allowed. the rules say no drunks. read this as don't bother others and don't be a drunken asshole. if you fuck with pete or anybody at the office, drunk or not you will be kicked out. if you are cool, keep to yourselves, and act SAFE, you can do as you wish.

If you ever get a chance to wheel with tristate jeepers in oakland city...dont pass it up. Trails are very tight but its a good time!! They own their own property so trails are well kept.

I live in evansville and still havent been to interlake. I hope to go soon, im just waiting on my friend to get his yota going. Is interlake very challenging at all?

if you're in the northern 1/2 of the state you might want to check out the cliffs out in marsielles (sp) IL located off I-80 1 1/2 hrs west of the ILL/IN state line. they dont call it insane terrain for nothing. just ask the roof/ right side of my s-10 blazer

Interlake is good from mild to wild. The TriState Jeep ride is May 1-3 this year. Check www.tristatejeepers.com for details, a few spots still open.

I like Redbird over Haspin, Interlake is a good time as well. Trails are really tight for full size running gear though.

They are tight but they were built with full size axles. We just like the tighter trails down here...more of a challange!

I have only been to Haspin but love the hell out of it. Being from the south I am use to mud and clay. The rocks are very new to me. I am not big on body damage being a good time. Now my YJ is on full width axles and was told I wouldnt fit in the trails at Redbird. I fish out that way and would love to try it, but not sure if what I was told is true. Also my southern nature makes any gravel road a place to wheel for me. Even moreso when it has rained and there are mud holes to be found. My favorite gravel road is out past Connersville before you get to Liberty along the river.
