First I'd like to thank Lance, Randii, Mike Pulskamp and Bob Roggy.

Next here's the skinny: The First Annual Put-up or Shut-up Shoot-out, Nov. 17/18, 2001. Lake Amador, California. This is a Rockcrawling competion for 40 of the biggest, baddest, in some cases mouthyest, hardcore wheelers in California. This competion will be about bragging rights, honors and of course MONEY......

The competion site is not open for running before the event. It is private property so please respect the owners rights and stay away until the event.

The course will be set up by Bob Roggy, there will be a vendor/sponsor midway, club flea market, saturday night BBQ and dance. Camping will be available.

Over the next couple of weeks more information will be made available, but if you are interested in strut'n your stuff in front of hugh crowds for cash, e-mail Rich Klein at bigrich@d-web.com

put this weekend on your calander, you won't want to miss this one

Rich, how tough are you making the course? Tough enough to definitely need better than a stock rig? Guessing because I know you, I would think you want it as serious extreme wheeling as you can make it.

Kelly this first event will be HARDCORE our friend Bob is planning and setting the course. so expect it hard, tight in some spots but wide open pick your own line in others. Most of the ledges and drops are very techincal the climbs awesome but not full throttle type climbs. The venue for the event is located about 30 miles from Sac.. Again the area is private property and is not open for wheeling, the owner of the property will have anyone caught in the area arrested for trespassing along with being banned from participation in any of our events to be held in the future. If you are interested in competing in the event, entry forms are available thru Bob Roggy, call Bob at 530-626-9451
The entry fee has been modified to $200.00, the pay back with giveaways will equal 100%
1st thru 10th will recieve payoff

I knew it would be, have already spoken to Bob about it. I just wanted you to post it because it will save the stock jeepers money from trying to enter. I would think one would want to be set up so they would not block the trail (breakage).

Will there be a spectators fee?

Big Rich
09-10-2001, 11:11 PM
ok I'm here to answer the questions asked to this point.....The event will probably start around 9/10 am, actual times will be annouceed later, this will be a two day event. There will be a spectator fee, not yet determined, but probably in line with other events of its type (ie..ARCA). there will be camping available, improved sites with full hook ups and also primative sites(no hookups). Costs will be posted shortly... We are also planning more events for next year with locations spread thru-out California..You will be able to drive mom's taruas to this event. paved roads and mostly paved parking, we will be holding a BBQ and a dance/D.J. music on saturday night. also a swap meet and a vendor midway are in the works.....

Here's the only picture we've got so far -- I gotta go wrest the rest of 'em from Mike Pulskamp's camera...

http://www.4x4wire.com/news/CalROCS/tn_P1010533a.jpg
The full-sized JPG (porking out at about 200k) is at: http://www.4x4wire.com/news/CalROCS/P1010533a.jpg

I'm damn proud to be working with Rich to publicize his efforts. Based on his efforts, the ARCA Cedar City events have really set a high mark for the other events to target -- I expect to see similar excellence in the CalROCS events... and I know for sure that Lake Amador will offer a sweet venue. I've been walking this canyon for a coupla years now, you're gonna dig the steep chutes!

More pictures soon!

Brandon, there has been talk about setting up an area for some open wheeling in the area. But this only talk at this time. We need to where the intire course gets setup and whats left afterward. But we will keep as many options open as possible.
