I mostly buy small stuff local in placerville or online. My sluice I got second hand about 10 years ago for free and if you're a little bit crafty you can easily make the expensive but simple tools.

I use all of the above and bought everything but the sluice on craigslist. Search often and you'll find the deals. I do like to support the local shop in Auburn for small and unique stuff. Half the fun is BSing with the old guys in there.

Check the gpaa web site and go to one of there gold shows you can find some killer deals.
