Someone wants me to make some basic sliders that bolt through the frame bec of some fitment issues with the body mount wings on their Zuk.
Has anyone done this? Did you use sleeves?
I'd be more inclined to weld on a large diamond shaped plate to the outside frame rail if it were for me. Drilling all the holes though the frame is a PITA IMHO. Anyone welded some to the outside of the frame?

Just a sugestion what about clamping the frame between to plates I dont think bolting through the frame without sleaves would be strong enough my o2 but if its because of a body lift fuck it weld them to the body

Do you mean where the bolts would go above and below the frame? I looked at that, but it does not look like it would work. There is not enough clearance b/t the body and the top of the frame in the front, and in the back the brake lines rise above the frame.

I welded mine to the frame 2 points and the frame bent inward when I landed on them real hard. (3 foot drop) just a lil FYI
I revamped them now mounting in three spots. Well see how they hold up this weekend.

Just a heads up, If you are bolting to the frame, to prevent the frame from crushing....You need to sleeve the bolts. But remember to have the the top hole on the outside of the frame rail larger that the inside one, that way the sleeve will help transfer the loads to the other side of the box section. the sleeve must be the flush to the the frame rail so the mounting plate transfers the loads correctly. if this is done, you will then be loading both sides of the frame rail box section instead of one, like you would when its welded on. the lower bolt large hole shoud be opposite of the upper(inside the frame) to help transmit the load torsionally across the box section and across the leangth of the rail.
One more thing, use grade 5 bolts, in this case you need a bolt that will take a torsional load more than a shear load, the mounts will take the shear. and you may want to provide a back plate, or make the mount wrap around the underside of the frame and up the inside a good way.
Oh man sorry for the lecture, let me know if you have questions.
