I am looking at going with the Pro-Jection setup and was just looking for some real world experiences with both the feedback system and the non-feedback system. Mainly i want to know how they do at idle especially the non feedback not having an idle-speed control. I am running a 258 I-6.

RealJeep - I currently run the 300cfm single barrel kit on my cruiser 6 cyl. I had to mod the manifold adapter to fit the toyota pattern, but you won't have to. Overall, the kit has performed awesome. I do not run the closed-loop kit, so that would make it even smoother. But it idles awesome, at any angle, no problems. It takes some time to get it dialed in after installation, i spent a few days messing with the settings. It was a serious upgrade over the carberuetor. And it does have both idle mixture, and idle speed control. The closed loop kit simply fine-tunes the mixture to get a 14:1 air/fuel mixture.
Overall, I say GO FOR IT!!
$725 from Jegs, and it has everything you need, even the mech fuel pump block-off plate.

Yup Yup! Elf nailed it.
ChevotaSS, Im runing the 750 closed loop on my "pretty peppy" AMC 401, 400HP and it works great up to about 5000RPM then it falls on its face. If I was really running high Revs very often I would go with the 900 to get the power out of the top end. But Im not, so I wont.

I have a 900 cfm Holley TBI on my 502.
I dropped the Holley ECM in favour of a Howell chipped 91 Camaro TPI ECM and harness. Works much better than the Holley.
Holley seems to have cured some of the woes of the Pro-jection with their new Commander 950. I would recommend you look at that.
A great resource is http://www.thirdgen.org, go to the TBI forum. There are a couple Holley engineers on the board who will answer any query you have.

I used a 900 pro-jection tbi (the one before the commander)closed loop, on a mild 454. It was a vast improvement over the carb. I purchased the Holley unit over the howel kit because I thought I would be changing cams more often and wanted the adjustability. it was very difficult to pinpoint the tuning. Move the map on the laptop then go drive, This sucked, the truck weighed almost 7000 and the small map changes were hard to detect and a waste of time. But you would get the feeling it could always be better than it was. If you could tune it on a dyno, that would be it. I am building a new big block and Im going with the howel kit. For simplicity, I spent hours tuneing the holley kit. Bolt on the howel one, and ride. And as far as the eng. changes go I know what cam I will use. And Howel will burn the chip for my application. Hope this helps.

yeah thats alot of help guys. i was also thinking about howell also. whats great is Howell is only an hour from my house:D :D A friend of mine got the howell kit and it wasnt running right. took it down there. they spent 4 hours getting it right and burning a new chip. they only charged him $50 for all the labor and chip. looks like im gonna lean towards the howell now. for simplicity and im guessing, great customer service..
