I think I might cut off my rocker panels all together and weld in a 2x6 or something, have seen a few done this way on Blazers, would give 2" more clearance as well. Has Anybody else done this to their rig, looking for ideas I haven't seen yet.

my original idea was just a simple tubulare
type but afer totaly KOing my rockers i think i am just going to cut them off and do a 2x4 welded in its place with some bars going to the frame with bushings, and some small 1.25 tubes comeing out 3in for easyer kid instal and to keep the rocks out of the doors
oh yea this is a fj60 not a k5 but the same sorta rig

my buddy has cut his CJ about 4-6 inches from the bottom and inward and tapered it all off at 45 degrees useing 1/4 inch steel as the rocker it is bombproof and really gained alot of clearance

The rangers have the 8.8' have the 28 spline, I believe that all explorer axles are 31 spline.

Any good pics of this? I saw this once, but didn't get a chance to get a good look at it.
