Went wheeling after work today for a shakedown before going to the con next weekend. Everything worked awesome and the rig kicked booty. Forgot to take the digi I was so excited to go, but I'll bring it next week for sure.

Felt awesome to run a trail in my own rig...its been a while!

That's great. So how long were you a driveway jockey? Wasn't it like two years? Man, that must have fealt good. Congratulations. Your rig is so well designed and put together it was worth the time.

Yep about two years, sold the Scout right before Trek 2000. No rig for about six months, stock zuk for about 4 months, the rest of the time in the project from hell! The rig is such an improvement over the IH it isnt even funny. The lwb sidehills like crazy, way better visibility, but the same wb as the Hippo. I like it!

So Poppy, yeah no one made it to SOR...how far are you still?

In a nagging mother's voice, "No, no, no, poppy, you can't build another rig until you've wheeled the one you have! :D

You should buy about 100 cases of beer and invite everyone on the board to your shop to help you finish. If you don't want our help, we can drink, watch, and annoy you. Wadda ya say ??

in my defense this next zuk is being built to be sold. i gotta fund all this stuff. :D

the problem with the buggy is finding the time and $$$. really right now all i need for it is the hydro steering, belly skid plate, and i gotta make all the brackets for my engine accessories.. and of course the nagging little things.

Poppy- Whats a shop in the hood go for? I found a cool shop up here, that some guys could share for 270 a month. Having Cow down the road for testing is damn handy. Its got to take just as long to go to Richmond as it would to come to Ukiah.

BTW-building a rig for profit is HARD to do...IMHO you could make more dough working a second gig.

well the way i'm going about it i should be able to clear some good profit. :D but it's an experiment so we'll see. if i can't make what i'm expecting off it i'll wheel it as a backup rig. ;) err uhmm well... i guess it would be my main rig huh? my shop is 1200sq ft. and runs me $650 + electricity. takes me around 50 minutes to get there. almost the same as cow. tell me more about what your thinking? i'm not all that attached to richmond location and cow testing would defianatly inspire me to move. but i'm just starting to get cramped with 1200sq ft so a big place would be a must.

Poppy-The shop scene at my new crib just plain sucks. I was looking at spaces to work and keep the zuk. The shop I saw for 270 was around 1500 sf. , two roll ups with a lot of depth and side areas. Bigger than I really need, but would work if I could find someone to share. 270 includes electric.

DM- Sorry...now that it runs right it pulls just fine. The gearing is 5.29s on 35s. Pretty much standard for toy guys. The toy tranny gear spacing seems a little wider, but I'm not really sure.

Poppy-thats 270 total....135 ea. ...stuff is cheaper here.

Tanks for the response. BTW, you have access to cheap shop space, damn! I'd hazard to guess you and Poopy (oops) will be rooming together soon.

Finished getting the rig ready today...put in some degree shims in the rear to reset my pinion angle that I botched, topped off all of the fluids, oil change etc.

I am really looking forward to this weekend, get to try the new rig AND my new tow rig, what more could a guy want?
