you would think that more members on this board would be running the gm 105 amp, after all I thought this was the hardcore forum:D

I'm running the 105 :D

its sweet, got a whole lotta amperage to tool around with. my biggest reason for the change was cause my stock alternator was crapping out. Bought the bracket from roadless gear, good stuff and good customer service.

HARDCORE shit when youve torn all the metal off of the truck there's no place for lights and radio stuff and with a good optima Batt or duals what do you need amperage for.:D

YEah, I dont have my winch yet, but gonna have it soon and with all the light I have I don't know if the stocker is gonna be up to the task of keeping the optima charged.

Dave, find me one of them bad boys and I'll be there with the $ and the

Got me a nice stock 1985 zuk alt, with a brand spankin new set of brushes. We'll see how it and the 875 CCA battery likes the new M8000 soon.

Any canadians running an optima? The damn things cost about 2 -3 regular big batteries at most places.

Me thinks some poking around the scrap yard should get me a ~85 amp japanese alternator from something. Most anything with AC and power everything has a decent alt.

I don't know why but they charge a fortune for small case gm alts here.

65 amp one-wire - custome mounted to the VW 1.9td. You didn't think I would put the crappy little Samurai one on with a custom mount, didja'?
Also, I got the rebuilt GM for 25 bucks no exchange needed. That's why I like the GM more than anything - cheap to get, cheap to replace/rebuild, and always in stock everywhere.
