Just got him all tuned up. It was real easy on the square-bore holley footprint. I just spun the adapter 180 degrees. Made a little bracket for the cable, and away we go. The Manifold is an Edelbrock Torker II wich is not the best for off road, but like I said, it made the flip easy. I also have a 22.5mm riser in there to get the intake passages a little longer and give a little more room for the plumbing. Haven't tested it yet but it's gotta be better than the Holley.

I scored a stock dual plane manifold. That will be a little trickier to mount the 180deg Rochester on but should give me better bottom end performance. The Torker is supposed to work best above 2500rpm:eek:

The carb would not idle so I put brass bushes in it. Very easy job and it idles lower than the Holley now:cool:

Cheers

Ben

Welcome to the club! It appears yours went easier than mine did, as I tried to use a q-jet adapter and had to grind the living hell out of it..

I previously had my float set very high, and wound up lowering it a tad...

To test it, I found a decently steep hill, and started crawling it... midway through, I nailed the throttle, and was pleased at the wheelspin that followed! Whereas before, it would be sputtering and coughing..

Pretty common on rock buggies...flipping the carb helps when crawling up inclines...less fuel to load up the carb and kill the engine...got a friend with a sammy buggie...he flipped the his weber carb...he can crawl up anything without stalling out...
