I'm not his homeboy... I just think he should have searched... this topic is covered nearly monthly.

I saw that too, what gives? what the fawk do you do when/if you ever slice a tire up on day 1 of a 3-day ride?

yea, ive got one mounted on the Jeep... I know not a 42' though.

If I slice a tire on day one of a three day ride I use plugs, a big needle and some wire... I have a 38.5" spare, but I'm ditching it because I hate having 100 pounds + of weight extra being lugged around. If I had 42's I most CERTAINLY wouldn't carry one.

P&T he asked about BIG sized tires... like 42"+... not cute little 37's. :flipoff2:

Now do a search... it's what it's there for...

Just so you know, Midland is where it's hot, dirty and the sheep are nervous, " for a Varity of reasons" and where High School FOOT BALL lineman are 24 years old and 6' 5" and weigh in at 285. wait that was Odessa..

Dallas is where and the gangbangers shoot at each other all the time and it's not safe to be inside a 7-11 after dark.

spent 24 years there

Back to bidness, I would not carry that big a spare. Field repair is the only good option. Just take the tools with ya.

a) what kind of wire-needle do you carry ?

b) would you carry a spare tire in the tow vehicle ?

firstly... Odessa and Midland are birds of different feathers... I'm not from here, I'm from East texas... the Goat thing applies there too...

As for wire... any thinner wire will work... just carry the whole spool...

Yeah i'd have a spare on the truck or trailer... for me it's either a cooler or a spare...

Only if it is 44" tire with steel rim mounted good and high on the rig :D

Ok, the answer is no. I do have a spare(42") at home, in my way all the time.
