I have a 38.5" spare, but I'm ditching it because I hate having 100 pounds + of weight extra being lugged around. If I had 42's I most CERTAINLY wouldn't carry one. Odessa and Midland are birds of different feathers... I'm not from here, I'm from East texas... the Goat thing applies there too... As for wire... any thinner wire will work... just carry the whole spool...
