: Did someone say LIGHTWIEGHT??
slider 08-23-2002, 06:57 AM That's right...a freak'n landscape trailer is all it took!!!
250 miles each way to the trail with an issue...
Hank...does this look like your setup?
slider 08-23-2002, 07:01 AM lame action shot!!...
This is all I have from a friend who took one damn shot!!
FLEXYSAMMY 08-23-2002, 07:35 AM WOW you are a brave soul!!!!!! I can't beleve you didn't get pulled over for being over weight!!! (you rig and trailer that is)
slider 08-23-2002, 07:57 AM The trailer is rated at 2900#s!!!
That should be adequate? I think?
Yea, looks like it!
The trailer I use is a dual axle low boy, but if it worked.....to hell with it!
I am going to flat tow mine to the trail from now on.
I'll get some pics for you next time I head out...
Lookin good!
DemoMike 08-23-2002, 08:36 AM You must have some pretty good tongue weight going on there.

2900 lbs including the wieght of the trailer.......i think you are a little to heavy on those tires and bearings!!
yager 08-23-2002, 08:42 AM Bahahah
i see guys towing zukes all the while with single axle trailers,
NOT ME !!! stay away from me on the road, if i see your trailer broke down runnign like that ill pass you ass and laugh as i go by.
I just think that if a tire blew or hub burned up it could cause a major sway problem with the load being higher up than you'd typicaly put on a trailer like that...
!! man my 6x12 util trailer (dual axle) was only $1000 NEW (without brakes) and only weighs 950# Thats only 300-400 more than the same sized single..
jmho ymmv good luck and all that!!!

I tow with a single axle trailer.....8x18 flat top......but the axles are rated for 6500 lbs......im no where near that!!
And a single axle trailer will tow better and track better than a double axle..........but it does need to be able to handle the load!
slider 08-23-2002, 10:00 AM actually...
I've found a dual axle trailer to track better!
Manuvering in reverse a single axle is more responsive.
I've used dual axles.... prefer it due to the amount of sway on a single...
BUT,
I tried to sway this thing quite a bit when no one was around on the highway and it just tracked right on back...no issues...enough tounge wieght, for sure!!
I beefed the toungue with a "Y" config instead of the single POS tounge it had.
I might beef the axle with one from Harbor Frieght Tools??
The trailer was cheap...so some mods might be in order here.
Tounge weight?...no problem...it's a Rover...overbuilt and under marketed as the decent Utility it can provide.
slider 08-23-2002, 10:04 AM Oh yea..I think the trailer must weigh in at around 400#'s
plus the Omega...(sammi) I'm guessing at 2200#'s?
so I think I'm still within the limits...
I think I'd rather have a bit more room to move....but...
Fawk It!
I'll send you guys the first shot of both rigs in a ditch!!!
Long time reader first time replier!
I run a single axle trailer with no trouble. The axles are rated @ 3500#s
I had the axles moved back about 12"s and there is no sway and as far as having a blow out and losing control. I had one two weeks ago while going around a corner. NO PROBLEM. I even think the tire was a Bridgestone:flipoff2:
350 Samurai 08-23-2002, 05:04 PM The hell with a trailer, just do it this way:

I guess that is actually how some guy gets to and from the trail. I got the pic off the internet somewhere. It explained the whole story, but I don't remember it now. Crazy, huh?

I dont think so. It may have less rolling resistance. And single axles have 2 breaks, 1 left 1 right. Double axle trailers have 2 left 2 right. Think about it. You seem to know alot about zooks and looks like you have a wicked ride, nicer than mine hands down. But you dont know jack about trailers. :flipoff2:
slider 08-24-2002, 09:59 AM good find!!!

Why not ask Airzuki himself ?
350 Samurai 08-24-2002, 11:56 AM I'll let you ask him and you can get back to me.
I don't really care. It's in there and it's funny.
AIRZUKI 08-24-2002, 05:46 PM well....... don't tell me I out-rednecked somebody from Tennessee??????? ........ J/K :) :)
so my brother goes ....... " I wonder if your 'zuki will fit in the back of the PT109 "( R.I.P.:( ) so I said .... let's scab together some ramps and try it........;)
it would have fit all the way in if I had removed the spare tire rack
rumor has it that stock LJ's or sj410's will fit in the back of a 8' P/U box with the tailgate closed..... mine's not stock but it still kinda fit.......since that pic was taken the new axles have made it ( tandem axle ) trailer only............

i gotta ask, was there alcohol involved ?
slider 08-25-2002, 05:53 PM I think I see VODKA stains on the camera lens in that shot!!!
They're might have been alcohol involved but I doubt it. If you've ever seen / heard of Airzuki / CRO's place you'd know that's what they do for fun. OTT used to be in their back yard. It's like a 4x4's walmart (in that they have one or two of nearly everything and the prices are right... to them anyways!) Their own pnp of sorts or at least so I've heard.
O an BTW SJ's and LJ's do fit into a long box pick up when they are stock. We've done it a couple of times.
