: why not track/kick rear gears?

I tried the search and all I seem to find is that FRONT track/kick gears bolt right up to Sami axles, but you really should swap the gears over to the Sami cast iron chunks. Is there something different with the Track/Kick REAR gears that do not allow them to swap over to the Sami chunks? I'd figure that bolting up the front chunk into the front Sami housing and swapping the rear gears over to the rear Sami chunk would be the way to go for an easy swap.

I figure someone is BOUND to just say "they don't fit", but what is it that makes them not fit if they do not?

I'm sure SOMEONE could figure out a way to "make it fit". Damn, I've seen people shoe-horn 454's into Cherokees, 2.5 ton Rockwells under Suzukis, and Schoolbus transmissions into Wranglers, I think just about anything is possible with the right tooling.

Matt (perhaps making this tougher than it really is)

They don't fit...........Happy?

But the front ring and pinion will. You can set up a set of front gears from a Kick into your rear carrier.

Problem solved. No need to MAKE it fit:flipoff2:

Buy a custom housing sold at many of the fine zuk retailers in the US of A and shove the rear kick 3rd in there. Otherwise, IT WON'T FIT! Just like a ford 9 in doesn't fit (well ok the side gears are at least the right size and spline count on the sam and kick)

Also, the front Kick carrier is aluminum, so put the gears in your sammi carrier.
