: Station Wagon springs...

ok, may sound like I'm on crack... but was wondering round the pick-n-pull last night, and happen to spy a couple of Big Old Ford station wagons.... looked underneith and noticed they actually have some nice, long, slightly offset springs in the rear....

Got me thinking, anyone used, or heard of them being used?? The ones I was looking at were damn near 58" long (same as my Scout), 2.5" wide, slightly offset pin, thin, multi-leaf packs.

Station wagons are usually family trucksters, so I would think the springs would be kind of beefy. I could always add a couple leaves, and/or have a military rap made.

Anyone experimented with them?? Might swing by and pick a couple sets up this evening and play with them, just thought I would get some input first....

I have thought the same thing. I would definately plan on some added anti-wrap feature though cause I remember the station wagons burning out in the high school parking lot had bad axle wrap with little stock tires.
