I want to SAS my 04 F150 but don't want to have to custom fab VSS's. Is there a factory set of 1 ton axles with VSS's that match my truck?

Superduty, and learn to search

I have done an extensive search on this subject both on this site and others and still haven't gotten a definitive answer and this includes yours. You say Superduty, please explain and give some proof.

Go to www.fullsizebronco.com and look under sas. You will find everything you need to know in the stickies. They have front and rear threads.. Search.

what type of proof do you want? Superduty axles use speed sensors, just like your f150. They are the only ford solid axles that use speed sensors.

Wow, you just wasted my time. There is absolutely nothing pertaining to what I am asking on that web site. It's easy for you to post up a bullshit link and tell me to search to make yourself look like you know what you are talking about, how about you post a link that is actually helpful? I dare you to find anything on that site that will answer my original question. Please make me look like a dumbass.

as long as you use a superduty axle set that has 4 wheel abs, you should be ok.

however, you might have to have your ecm flashed to accept the diffrent signals. you can count the teeth on your tone ring ( or call a ford dealer ) in the rear axle, and compare that to a superduty rear. i do belive they are the same if your rig has the 9.75 rear. the fronts are inside the unit bearings of the superduty, and im not sure on yours.

if the count is off the ecm must be corrected for the abs and propper trans contol ( ford can flash only so much correction though )

i have seen a few 04/05 f150 with superduty axles, and i dont know if there was a problem.

let me look up and see if i can find some more info

as far as i can tell they use a simmiler ring in the rear, but no luck on the front info. but as seing they list a 8.8 and a 9.75 rear, and i know they use a diffrent tooth count, you should just have to reprogram the speedo

i aslo looked at the abs connectors for your and a 05 superduty, it apperars as the fronts would plug in, but the rear might have to be changed

Thanks for the help f250rollinon37s, it's nice to get an educated reply. From what I've found the rear end will work, just haven't found that 100% yes on the front.

Is there a way to check pulses per revaluation with a meter? The sensor just makes and breaks a contact right? Can you put a meter on it and count how many times it makes and breaks per rev?

edit: cutting apart a couple of used hubs scrounged from a local dealer would work also, just count the teeth on the ring

yes and no - they work on a hrtz after a few rpm, like many crank sensors, it is possible.

i have removed the sensor and marked the tooth inside ( lightly scratched the tooth - it will pick up a small punch mark - dont ask :shaking: ) then use a flashligh and count them

pulling the diff cover is easy for the rear -
just some time at a parts store will answer the fronts

are you front rings on the cv shafts ? and what motor do you have - 4.6 or the 5.4 ? as most 4.6 had a 8.8 rear

for a simple leaf spring front id get a 02-04 front end - if its going to be coil / linked id get a 05 or newer due to the cast in mounts. the 05 up also has bigger 35 spline stubs and is wider in the front. along with needing a minimum 17" steel wheel

I looked under my truck and can't see the tone rings on my shafts but the sensors are pretty far into the hubs. BTW I have my brake hose, an electrical line, and two hydraulic lines which come from the ABS distribution block, all going to my hub area. And my truck is a 5.4L with a 9.75 rear end. I looked at a 2007 F250 and only remember one line other than the brake line.

so i know this is an old thread but what ever came of this? did you get the dana 60 underneath the f150? im looking at doing the same thing but mine is 2wd so im thinking its easier as id assume i dont have speedo sensors for the front of mine as i dont have an axle...???

the speed sensors on a 2wd 04+ 150 are on the rotors. look on the backside of the and you'll see them.

speed sensors or abs? and is this the same thing that the 05+ superdutys have in them as well? when i got under my heep i could see only one wire coming down into the hub which seemed to me was the abs. i just did a bunch of work on a 02 superduty front end and the sensors from his axle looked identical to what are on my truck. ive searched and no one seems to be able to answer this question like it was stated above
