Hi guys, Have saved a 88 Cherokee With a 98 motor in it from the junkpile. Ok here is the deal , bought the Cherokee for the tires (all new) Flat bedded it home and parked it. After deciding to go back to BFG's all terrain, it sat for two years. Was told the trans was shot. Well the trans was ok, the expert that replaced the engine used tie wraps to hold the transmission lines, finally wearing holes in both. After replacing the lines and a fluid fill, it trucks with no problem ,accept...has a really bad hesitation at the start (when taking off in traffic). If you pump the gas it will fly. There is no hesitation at any other speed. Full tank of fresh gas, injection cleaners added etc. NO vacuum leaks. Have no clue as to the problem and dont really want to start throwing new parts at it as most garages will do till its fixed. The old owner said just get used to it and dont pull out in front of any trains.... Could the flywheel sensor be the culprit? Any advice as to where to start would be a great help. I am a small engine mechanic and know my way around the tech advice so specs would also be a help. Lastly its a 4.0 straight 6, fuel injected Thanks, Ed
