I'm in the process of building the cross-member to support a turbo-350/205, and of course a s.b.350. What I need to know is, how important is having the tranny pan sitting level and the block tipped down in the back-like from the factory? I'm trying to keep the block low between the frame and the t-case up high for ground clearance. Once I get this figured out I can go on with 4-linkin the rear.

I'm interested to see the answer to this. I just mounted my motor with only a couple of degrees slanted back and my trans pan (TH350) isn't level either. I assumed it would be ok since it's very close to level just not exactly.

how often are you driving down the road/trail on a perfectly level road ?

I think you'll be fine.

I taked to a friend today thats been building engines for ever, and he says that as long as you put a bigger pan on, it will be fine.(tranny) All of our trails are uphill, so I'm thinking this will be in my favor.
