We used the stock hoop and it worked well, as a matter of fact I think we had about 10 really hard rolls last year.

Here's a related question, has anyone else beefed up the tabs on the stock bar when moving the seat belts over from the targa?

They didn't appear to be built for anything except bracing the targa seltbelt points.
