Have a friend who is doing a sas on his 1991 f150. He bought a hp d44 from a 70 something model ford truck. It had drum brakes and what appeared to be factory ram assist on the steering. He has worked most everything out except the swapping of the knuckles to work with his disk brakes off the ttb axle. Not sure what knuckles he can use that will make this an easier swap to do. If anyone has done a swap like this or can help with his problem then it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Knuckles and spindles from a '76 F-100, '76-'79 F-150 or a '78-'79 Bronco.

Thanks for the quick replies. I will pass the word tomorrow at work so he can start hunting. Yes it is old as dirt but for him it is his first rig to work on. He does not have much skills so he is trying to find the easiest way about doing this. If he gets it completed then after a little bit of wheeling and a 5.0 swap he will look into stronger axles. I will post pics as he tears down.

Skip the ford brakes, the drum knuckles are plenty strong, probably stronger than the ford disk pieces, and IIRC the steering arms are higher too. Get GM 1/2t d44 spindles, backing plates and calipers, and get ford hubs and rotors 76-86 or so. His rotors "might" work, but he needs to cross ref them against the older ones to make sure. The GM stuff is easier to find, cheaper, and IMO works better.
