Prairie City SVRA is planning a major expansion and upgrade over the next five years.

There will be a meeting in Folsom on MONDAY, August 26 from 6 - 9pm at Lake Natoma Inn. A complete overview will be presented.

Millions of dollars from OHV green sticker funds will be spent to make Prairie City a showcase for California SVRA's.

Rich (CalRocs) and I met with some folks at Prairie City today in regards to the 4x4 area and what can be done to make it attractive to users. Let's just say that they are very excited and we were talking about bringing in big boulders and making three levels of courses (SUV, Rubicon, Extreme).

It would be great if as many of you as possible could show up to the meeting on Tuesday to voice your support for the plan and especially for a world class 4x4 area.

They will also tell you that without building all the other areas for skateboards and mtn bikes and nature trails, etc that this is the only way we can keep the park. I call bullshit on them as when they get the park built the way they want using our money they will phase all motorized vehicles out. I will be there as i want to ask how long till they plan to phase us out to see what their answer is.

Nick, with what they are talking about spending on the 4x4 section, I don't think they will phase us out, unless we never use it, then shame on us.......:(

We will have a hugh amount of the park to play with. please see the post in general 4x4.

I have heard two presentations on their plan and I don't think that this is the case. They are trying to make the park more viable to the community so it won't be closed. There are over 800 acres available, and the skateboard park will use less than 1.

Wrong, ask them how much of the park is open to vehicle use today. Ask them how much land is open to 4x4s, then ask them how much used to be. Have you ever seen the artist's rendering of the park in the future. Dig a little deeper before you beleive them. I am not saying that some good things cant be done out there, its just that in my mind its a pacifier to us so they can build a different park. I hope i'm wrong.

Nick you are correct, there has been an area set aside for non-motorized activities, and there has been areas forced closed by the eco-terrorists, but we have what we have. So lets work on making it better.
