: Wolf ammo question

Anyone know what's going on with wolf ammo? I ordered a couple of tins from Cabela's back on 12/12/08. They were on back order at the time, and have now pushed the date back a few times (currently 3/20). I've been searching several places, and everyone is backordered (and I've noticed Midway keeps pushing their dates back like Cabela's).

Obviously lots of stuff is backordered, just find it strange that it seems like wolf hasn't shipped out any ammo in a few months now.

I was looking for Wolf 7.62x39 yesterday and couldn't find any either. Not much 7.62x39 out there at all right now.

I had a hard time finding .223 Wolf too. I ended up buying some Barnaul from Widner's. It was the cheapest I could find.

yeah, cabela's had a good deal going at the time (like $30 off an order), plus the price on the tins has jumped like $40 each since I ordered. so i really don't want to go elsewhere, but was just hoping to get the ammo in by spring, which is looking less likely.

I had ordered 2 cases from sportsmans guide. Both cases were back ordered, the first case just came in and the other case is "in back order till march" Both were ordered in November.

They're shipping, its just effing slow...

Try a local gun show. Just show up at the door when it opens. get a 1000 rounds of wolf for around 140 bucks

LOL whens the last time you have been to a gun show?

Last weekend I didn't see ANYTHING for less than around 280/ thousand and many for much more than that. One guy was selling 20 round packs of wolf black box for $9 EACH!

If you can get a case for 140 - shipping to 80020 ? :D

Like the other guys says. have you been to a gun show in the past 3 or 4 years?

thanks, that's encouraging. i understand how everything has gotten hard to find, just thought it was weird that nobody was getting any stock in for the last few months. i'm guessing there was just that many people ahead of me that ordered. hopefully the 3/20 date will stick.

and yeah, if i could find it for $140 per 1k I'd be all over it. The gun show up here a few weekends ago was no where near that. As it stands, I'm getting this for $200 per 1k shipped, which isn't horrible.

Its not wolf, but I just got last week 1260 rnds of 7.62x39 from

www.classicarms.us

for 385 shipped, was in stock shipped next day. Oh and its 1970's era Yugo Army surplus. Came in a wood box sealed in a metal tin, looks as new as the day they were made, I'm pleased.

EDIT, I just checked their site, they still have it in stock.

I was at cabels in sidney sunday and they had loads of .223 in the 500 pack boxes as well as 7.62x39 sitting on the racks in the store. They had an endcap full of mixed .223 also as well as down the usual isle, it was low in the aisle but had at least 2000 rounds in 50 packs scattered along the isle shelves.
Im thinking they dont pull from the store to fill orders.

yeah, i've seen that stuff. but would rather not mess with the corrosive ammo, and the wolf is quite a bit cheaper. getting 1,280 shipped for $256. i'm just hoping to get it by the time it warms up.

that sucks, and yeah, i wouldn't think they'd pull from the floor. but if they have it on the floor, its coming from somewhere, and you'd think they'd have it to ship as well. maybe its the fact that its in the tins, maybe they don't get that as often or something.

i posted it in the cheap ammo thread when i got it (ordered 12/12/08), but they don't have it at that price anymore. they had the tins (640) rounds for $135 each, and if you bought $150 worth of stuff they gave you $30 off. So I paid $135 for each tin, minus the $30, plus like $20 in shipping.

now, the tins are $180 each, so not nearly as good a deal.

Shitake! More like $199 per 500 rounds at the past weekend's gun show.
