commun upgrades!??! Change the oil, give it a tune up... leave it alone :flipoff2:


Pertronix igniter to replace the points and/or gold box is alwasy good.

Good carb or efi.

Headers are more of a opinion thing, IMO they don't do much for a stock motor.

If you tearing it down, porting the exhaust runers is very good, you can shave the head as well for a little more compression. There are a variaty of cams avaliable, but for low-end (the best part of the motor), the stock one is hard to beat.

If it runs good, do the pertronix and the carb, then just take care of it... imo

If it's a 2bbl, are you SURE SURE SURE it's a 345, not a 304? No 4bbls for a 304.

Factory electronic ignition from '74 to 77 or 78. Usually involves a gold colored box on the firewall.

Two small primaries, two big secondaries.

You mean it has a stock intake manifold.

"high rise" and "air-gap" may be an aftermarket accessory for "those others motors" but you have a stock IH intake.

Just like you already have the forged connecting rods and steel crank.
