FNG questions
Ok, 2004 Chevy 1500 work truck 4x4, 5.3L, auto, 3.73 G80. In next month want to make these mods, torsion leveling kit, shocks, stabilizer, radial mudders, rims, locker. Down road intake, exhaust, tune.
Shopping around for prices, total confusion on brands since every company has convincing ads theirs is the best choice.
Level kits (torsion keys):
Rough Country, ORU, Procomp, Readylift, Skyjacker, etc. Prices range from cheap $99 for RC, to $200+ for Procomp. why?? any difference in torsion keys or level kits?
Shocks and Stabilizer:
Prob 10 major brands, cheap as dirt to over $100 each. How do you choose which brand and on budget are the cheap $30 shocks even improvement over stock?
Rims and Tire Size:
I wanted cheap black steelies but was told by more than one vender steelies on this Chevy would vibrate/not work right. So rim size and model suggestions?
Locker:
-since I have G80 guessing Detroit is my cheapest option cant put in lunchbox locker?
And later on ill have to cross the bridge with an intake, exhaust, and tuner! So many options! Is price correlate to quality on these items?? or get just best deal can find on the 3 items?
Advice, personal preferences, opinions on any of above parts choices for 04 K1500. Is just going with cheapest options, Rough Country keys, shocks, stabilizer, going to disapoint me in quality, performance, or bite me in the ass later? Tires looking at Super Swamper Trxus MT 285/75/16, good read ups, cheap price compared to other MTs.
Thanks!
