This is for someone else.
Today we went out and got off road. Not serious off road. But
worked the transfer case to get the oil flowing. Well, I was turning
the hubs. One side the hub would not move at all, but the knob to
change from lock to free worked. I was able to turn the hub on the
other side whether it was locked or freed. I don't think that it is
right. In fact, I am thinking that there is something wrong. Am I
right and does Marshall have to change out the hubs?

If it is the stock Spicer hub(faded red plastic dial with 100 degree of rotation) then just pull the cover off, it may have been reassembled wrong. If the dial is not aligned properly with the stamped piece that pushes on the gear to disengage the splines then it won't operate right.
Look at the good one as a guide on how the non-functioning one should look like.

Eric

edit: if it is the Warn hub then odds are it is junk.

If it's front drums maybe the brakes are just too tight. Otherwise I think Apollo23 hit the nail on the head.

Sound's like it doesn't get wheeled much. Might be time to pull both sides apart for a good inspection, cleaning and a little oil.

You're right. In fact it belongs to someone who once said the 4 wheel drive is worthless. It's a sad day when a piece of trash like that owns such a rig.
