ROCK RACERS,

Aqui reportando que ya andamos trabajando en las pistas para el MXRRA ROCK RACING RALLY 2009 que se lleva acabo en el PLANETA GTOROCKS, capital del rock motorsports.

Este rally va tener bastante sorpresas y va ser el MEGA BOWL DEL ESTE DEPORTE MOTORIZADO (THE MEGA BOWL OF ROCK MOTORSPORTS!)

El plan es hacer un pre-run (corrida de prueba) en el mes de Agosto. Esto sera cubrieto por tv, revistas, radio, y periodicos. Mas info y detalles muy pronto. Teams intersados en participar en este pre-run (ruta de prueba) favor de enviarnos un email o pm.

Aparte de ofrecerles una probadita de como van estar el show, este pre run tambien les dara suficiente tiempo para que modifiquen sus vehiculos para Deciembre! Vienen teams de Venezuela, EUA, Noruega, y de varios lugares de la republica. Islandia y Brazil por confirmar.

Just wanted to post a quick update that we are working hard on the new gates and will have many surprises this year! THIS WILL BE GOING DOWN IN THE BOOKS AS THE MEGA BOWL OF ROCK MOTORSPORTS! We have teams already confirmed from USA, MEXICO, VENEZUELA, & NORWAY!

We will be running a pre test run that will be televised and covered by other media as well to help begin pre promotion. This will also allow teams to test their junk, modify and get ready for the MEGA BOWL RACE! GET READY TO SEE SOME MEGA RACING!

Algo muy importante de tomar en cuenta es la altura de nuestro Planeta GTOROCKS que afecta a todos los vehiculos, aqui van andar corriendo entre 2000-2700 metros de altura! Aqui hasta un motor con turbo se siento burrito. Y lo que sube, baja tambien igual y rapido, muy muy importante checar esos frenos!

The average altitude that you will be racing at will between 2,085 and 2,469 metres, peaking at around 2,700 metres! These altitudes and terrain make this rally race stand out among the rest. At these altitudes, even turbocharged engines gasp for breath in the rarefied air, a consideration which calls for specific mapping. Also, what goes up must come down and the team saw last year that the long descents made big demands on the brakes. "That's a lesson we learnt!"

En proximas fechas estaremos promocionando el evento en distintos medios de comunicación como: radio, TV en Mexico y EU, Dirt Sports Mag de EUA, eventos deportivos, banners y carteles, mailing electrónico, foros, etc. La presentacion y competencia está planeada llevarse a cabo el próximo 4-6 de deciembre del año en curso. El evento dará inicio el 5 de deciembre con la presentacion de los vehículos competidores a la ciudadanía Guanajuatense enfrente del Jardin Union y posteriormente desfilar hasta la explanada de la Alhóndiga, con un cocktel de bienvenida en el bar GALERIA ELITE. La competencia propiamente dicha se llevará a cabo el domingo 6 de Deciembre en el Parque Extremo Planeta GTOROCKS® en la comunidad de Calderones del Municipio de Guanajuato y el evento termina en el estacionamento del hotel sede.

That’s right, it time once again for the MXRRA® (Mexico Rock Racing Assoc.) ROCK RACING RALLY down south in beautiful, colonial Guanajuato, Mexico at PLANET GTOROCKS®, the largest and most extreme offroad park in Mexico. Just a few hours northwest of Mexico City lies this quaint little city. This friendly community that has proudly promoted extreme motorsports events such as the Free Jeep Jamboree Bash 2002-2003, FIA WRC RALLY 2003-2008, Rally Nations 2009, UROC MEXICO 2006, and the MXRRA ROCK RACING RALLY 2007-2008 is also perfectly prepared for Rock Crawling and Rock Racing fans. Surrounded by the ideal rock racing and rock crawling accommodations to kick off the third annual MXRRA® ROCK RACING RALLY 2009.

This year we will have teams from the USA, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Mexico and England all crawling and racing to see who takes the $ and trophy home.

MXRRA® is a sanctioned event and we have been working extremely hard to get the attention of the government officials so they can help us bring in more teams such as they do for WRC MEXICO event that attracts over 290,000 fans.

Les anexo una foto y aqui pueden ver mas con detalle el MAPA GOOGLE DE GTO, PARQUE PLANETA GTOROCKS, ARRANQUE Y META DEL RALLY. El Rally consiste de 3 etapas con rock racing y rock crawling! En 2 etapas cronometradas hay secciones de alta velocidad y brincos con verticales extremas para trepar! A termina la carrera los teams se regresan al estacionamento del hotel sede para la premiacion y after party.

La ruta del rally va estar marcada muy bien y se les va entregar un mapa detallada a cada team y no habra necesidad de usar GPS. Para los que gusten usar GPS les podemos dar el arhivo de la ruta. Habra vehiculos de rescate en los sitios mas dificil y gruas en los checkpoints por si un team lo requiere.

Puntos color Azules - Ruta pavimentada via el acceso nuevo para llegar al punto de arranque ubicado en la Presa de la Olla.

Punto color Rosa - Tunel hacia la Presa de la Olla.

Puntos color Blancos - Tramos no cronometrados para llegar a los puntos de arranque en el parque Planeta GTOROCKS ubicado en la comunidad de Calderones, GTO por las famosas piedras "Las Comadres". Los teams solo tienen 20 minutos para llegar a la segunda etapa, si llegan tarde reciben una penalizacion. La subida esta larga y les recomendamos checar bien sus vehiculos para que no se les vaya calentar. Subiendo tranquilamente llegas en menos de 10 minutos. Los teams arrancan en pares cada 5 minutos.

ENGLISH
This year´s rally race will be 6kms / 4 miles long of offroad racing. The teams must pass thru 3 rally stages in altitudes of 7500 - 8000 ft. The fastest times wins. XRRA main rules apply. The stages will include high speed sections, rock racing and the traditional rock crawling gates. Teams run in pairs. We have included more categories this year. 8 in total. Stock, Mod, Super, Clase 9 and VW 1600 buggies, Awd, Enduro and quads. Teams are allowed to use GPS but it will not be necesary. A rally trip computer is recommended. Neck collars are a must use this year for all teams to pass tech.

Red and Green squares - HOST HOTEL AND MXRRA RALLY CAMPUS

BLUE DOTTED LINE - Paved road to the first rally stage 1 located in downtown by the Presa de la Olla. This place will be packed with fans! Every sunday at least 25,000 folks gather around this area.

Pink Square - Tunel leading to the Presa de la Olla.

Green Dots - Starting points for the 3 rally stages. Check point.

Red Dots - Finish point of rally stages. Check point.

White dotted line - Stage 1. This stage will not be timed but it is a tough climb up and you musst reach the second stage within 20 minutes or receive a penalty. We recommend you tune your rigs to this altitude to avoid problems. Going at normal speed you can reach the second rally stge in less than 10 mins. Teams will take off in pairs every 5 minutes. Except for the 2 enduro and quads.

VIERNES 4 de DEC 10am - 4pm RUEDA DE PRENSAS en GTO CAPITAL. Entrega de mapa en el Rally Campus y revisión de pistas del Parque Extremo PLANETA GTOROCKS®. Fans están invitados para venir al RALLY CAMPUS para conocer a los teams y sus vehículos. El RALLY CAMPUS será ubicado en el Hotel Sede GRAN PLAZA

SABADO 5 de DEC 10am -4pm Registracion y revisión de vehículos en el estacionamiento del HOTEL GRAN PLAZA ubicado por la entrada de GTO vía la caseta de Silao. Entrega de mapas y ultima oportunidad de Revisión de pistas del Parque Extremo PLANETA GTOROCKS®..

SABADO 5 de DEC 6-7pm Desfile desde el rally campus ubicado en el estacionamiento del hotel GRAN PLAZA hacia el JARDIN UNION. Si llegas tarde al desfile estarás descalificado. Esto será el arranque ceremonial del rally. Se les va entregar un número de 1-50 y ese será su orden para seguir durante el rally..

DOMINGO 6 de DEC 12pm-4pm Comienza la competencia del MXRRA® ROCK RACING RALLY 2009! A CASTIGAR LAS PISTAS Y PIEDRAS A ALTA VELOCIDAD! Los Teams arrancaran de la entrada (Rally Stage 2/Etapa 2) del Parque Extremo PLANETA GTOROCKS® pasando 2 puntos de tiempo y luego regresando al RALLY CAMPUS ubicado en el estacionamiento del HOTEL SEDE GRAN PLAZA para la premiacion. Amigos de 4x4, pues si fueron varias cosas que afectaron este evento. POR PARTE DEL STAFF MXRRA LES PEDIMOS UNA DISCULPA A TODOS. Aqui esta nuestra explicacion y puntos muy interesantes.


1. Patrocinador CORONA cambio todo 18 dias antes del evento y nos bajo el $ prometido a una miceria, aparte dijo que pagaba el patrocinio hasta Enero 2010. BLUE FOX BTL, al quien se le rente el evento, cerraron trato con CORONA en Nov pero luego se metio el regional y cambio todo. Ni edecanes mandaron. Muy mal por la parte de CORONA.

2. El HOTEL SEDE GRAN PLAZA pidio el 100% de pago de todo en avance el 4 de DEC. No habia $ para cubrir todo y perdimos el Rally Campus y espacio para el Concierto. El director de MXRRA tuvo que acomodar a todos en su casa y pagar hoteles de estrellas de su bolsa. En menos de 24 horas tuvieron que buscar otro lugar para hacer tech y poner el ensenario para la banda de rock que ya venia en camino desde Texas EUA.

3. Turismo de Municipio de GTO y del Estado de GTO no quizo apoyar, su razon porque no habia $.

4. Como no habia $ no se pudo terminar 3 vehiculos para que pudieran competir los de fuera.

5. Presidencia como siempre puso presion de la seguridad y nos dijo que MXRRA era responsable si pasaba un accidente.

6. El gerente de Galeria Elite fue despedido el 27 de Nov y no aviso, el trato que acordamos no lo valieron el dia de la fiesta de bienvenida el sabado Dec 5. El director de MXRRA compro un pomo y varias cervezas para los teams presentes. Luego el bar se les termino la cerveza.

7. El gerente de IUSACELL de gto capital supuestamente estaba fueras y no sabian nada de lo acordado. Perdimos la cobretura en vivo. Pero cada noche tratamos de subir fotos en nuestra pagina.

8. La presidencia municipal de GTO capital se desapercio como magia cuando la media los quiera entrevistar.

PUNTOS BUENOS que salieron de este 4to evento annual.

1. Se conocieron teams de Costa Rica, Venezuela, EUA, Mexico y Francia. * El Ingles tuvo que abortar porque trabajo. Tambien llegaron unos nuevos extreme rock crawlers gringos que radican en Monterrey que viajaron para apoyar. No trajen sus vehiculo porque no lo terminaron pero ahi estaban. Gracias Doug. Othon Martinez tambien viajo desde Durango, Butter y Club A todo Lodo, Club 4x4 de GDL, Ariel y Familia Mundo 4x4, para ser parte del Bongo #4. Gracias por el apoyo.

2. Logramos traer el legendario Walker Evans y Jim Smith a gto, Walker celebro su cumple aqui y ahi estaban los teams extranjeros con el. PRICELESS.

3. Presidencia de SILAO apoyo y les dimos un espectacular increible el Viernes por la tarde. Gracias SILAO!

4. Los teams dieron sus autografos en SILAO y GTO CAPITAL.

5. Trofeos llegaron a tiempo desde EUA con el Team de Laredo Texas y se repartieron a todos la noche del 6 de DEC.

6. Fiscalizacion de GTO Capital no apoyo para buscar en lugar donde hacer la premiacion y concierto de rock. Nos dio permiso para hacer todo en la Presa de la Olla y estuvo muy muy padre. Gracias Lic. Barba Uribe

7. Todos los teams internacionales se fueron feliz y les encanto las fiesta y dijeron que regresaban en el futuro.

8. Esto abrio puertas para varios teams para ir a competir al extranjero.

9. Aunque nos faltaba $ y vehiculos, nunca dejamos de tratar de hacer los mejor para sacar el evento. Y eso les dolio mas a Presidencia de GTO Capital. Entre todos nos ayudamos para hacer la fiesta un exito.

10. El promotor y staff de BLUE FOX BTL hizo un buen esfuerzo para sacar el evento y aprendieron bastante. Al final de cuentas se la pasaron bien en el after aparty y conceirto de rock. Los teams de EUA y Venezuela les dieron sus gracias y MXRRA les dio su reconocimiento por su trabajo. Gracias Jaime y Elliot.

11. Bill Bridge logro llegar para cubrir el evento para Pirate 4x4.

12. La fiesta fue otro Bongo y honestamente varios dijeron que regresaban solo por la fiesta, hasta la competencia se les olvido.

13. Las entrevistas y reportajes via TV 4 y periodicos como el Correr y AM apoyaron a los teams extranjeros

14. MXRRA dara cartas de recomendacion para los teams que se inscribieron para ayudarles conseguir mas patrocinadores, tambien califican para equipo a precio de competidor.

En resumen, como pueden ver los puntos malos fuerons pocos y pasan en cada evento. Lo bueno es que no hubo ningun accidente y los teams pudieron ver a que nivel estamos aqui en GTO donde ya mezclamos lo de rock crawling y rock racing.
En nuestros ojos y corazones todos quedaron en Primer Lugar y se les entrego sus trofeos y reconocimientos a todos como prometido.

Sobre la credibilidad de MXRRA, oprimen aqui y podran ver nuestro esfuerzo para mejorar este deporte motorizado en mexico.

En el 2006 con UROC MEXICO perdimos $36,260 USD CORONA nos quedo mal. Tuvimos que regresar inscripciones ya que varios teams no querian entrarle a la competencia por la dificultad de las pistas.

MXRRA 2007 perdimos $0 pesos fue patrocinado por TECATE logramos traer el Shannon y Don Campbell.

MXRRA 2008 perdimos $0 pesos fue patrocinado por TECATE y logramos traer al teams de EUA y NORUEGA!

MXRRA 2009 perdimos $50,000 pesos CORONA de nuevo quedo mal pero aun logramos traer teams de Costa Rica, Venezuela, EUA, y Francia!

#SHET# HAPPENS, LIFE GOES ON! A DARLE DURO MEXICO Y AVANZAR EN ESTO PORQUE SINO SE APAGA LA LUZ.

TEAM FRANCE - Ultima noticias fue que Magalie Fort y su primo de Francia quebraran su Jeep en el Pre Run a las 5pm, Johnny Despain y MXRRA staff fueron por ellos al rescate y arreglaron su Jeep pero no hiba poder correr duro entonces su team decidio irse por razones de trabajo sabado por la noche.
Gracias Magalie por dar un buen show en SILAO y participar en el Pre Run.

Opino con la experiencia de participar en tus eventos desde el 2006.
No tengo nada que decir mas que muchas gracias. Desde que participamos
contigo se nos han abierto las puertas de eventos mayores. 2006 UROC
Super crawl, 2009 King of the Hammers, Smorr Off Road y la obtencion
de nuestra participacion en KOH 2010.
Las personas que hemos conocido tanto nacional como internacional son
invaluables. Hermanos Lovell, Ranch Pratt, Shannon Campbell y familia,
Becca y Dustin Webster, Lance Clifford, Rich Klein, Staff de Crawl
Magazine y sin mencionar Walker Evans. Este anyo fue especialmente
grato conocer al equipo de Venezuela y a Heath, Louie, Doug y Jim de
EUA.
Nos hubiera gustado haber tenido mas contacto con los hermanos de
Costa Rica. El unico momento que tuvimos ellos estaban muy ocupados
con una larga fila de aficionados para dar autografos. Espero tener el
placer de conocerlos mejor en el futuro.
Yo se que hay vecez que los eventos no salen como se planea. Los
patrocinadores no siempre quedan bien y al final el organizador es el
que paga los platos rotos. Quiero decirte que fue un placer que
contaras con nosotros para el patrocinio de la banda de rock la fiesta
del domingo estuvo excelente. No estaba contemplado ese gasto pero
nuestro mejor premio fue tu agradecimiento.

My 2 cents come from participating in your events since 2006. I have
no words but gratitude. Since participating in you events we have been
invited to many great events. UROC 2006, 2009 KOH, Smorr Off Road and
our invite to KOH 2010.
The ppl that we have met and friendships are invaluable. Lovell
Brothers, Ranch Pratt, Shannon Campbell & family, Becca & Dustin
Webster, Lance Clifford, Rich Klein, Crawl Mag Staff and not to
mention Walker Evans. This was great especially to get to know Team
Venezuela, Heath, Louie, Jim and Doug from the USA.
We would have liked to have more contact with our brothers from Costa
Rica. The only time we saw them they were too busy with a long line of
fans to take pics and autografs. We hope to have the pleasure to meet
them in the future.
We know that not everything goes well or as planned at every event.
Sponsors don't always come thru and the organizer gets stuck washing
dishes. We want you to know that it was our pleasure helping out to
sponsor the rock band, sundays closing party was awesome. We didn't
have it our expenses for the trip but your display of gratitude was a
prize in itslef.

Por experiencia se lo dificil, complicado, desgastante y costoso que es siempre el organizar eventos de deporte motor, y mas en nuestro querido Mexico, asi que desde aqui te mando un abrazo y mis mas sinceras felicitaciones por hecharte un compromiso de este tipo a cuestas, y que a pesar de los pesares y de los multiples obstaculos que se les presentaron, pues pudieron tu equipo y tu sacar adelante el evento lo mejor que se pudo.

Y desde aqui les pido un poco de comprension a los asistentes que se han quejado del evento, ya que creanme que no es facil aventarse compromisos de este tipo y menos facil el armar un evento de esta envergadura en Mexico, asi que demosle un voto de confianza y compresion a quienes apuestan todo por el crecimiento del deporte motor en Mexico.

En lo personal me dio muchisimo gusto ver en las fotos que publican lo bien que esta el buen Walker Evans, a quien tengo el gusto de conocer personalemente y que hace varios años atras que no veia.

Por ultimo te comento, que cuando me dirigia en el motorhome del equipo a la ultima competencia de Nauticopa, tuve la fortuna de toparme y conocer en una gasolineria en San Luis a varios miembros de Team Leredo que iban en camino a Gto, eran personas super agradables, nos tomamos una fotos y te mande saludos con ellos.
