It' not ARB's fault as far as I can tell- I ordered an ARB and 4.88's for my brothers RC60 front axle and his Ford 10.5 rear end. The rear went smooth and is in the truck ready to go. When I tried to set up the front- I have to lower the pinion all the way to get any backlash??? This isn't right - The ARB says 4.56 and up on the box. No way to shim the carrier correctly??? HMMMM- Turns out that the 4.88 is a thick gear and the parts guy sent me the wrong carrier - No big deal. I call him on monday(SPent my whole weekend trying to figure this out) and he overnights me a new ARB that will fit. When I take it out of the box one of the washers that hold the case together falls out and upon closer inspection the bolts have been removed and then replaced at some time???HMMMM I stick one of the badboy 1.5 35 spline shafts in and guess what???It does'nt fit. Turn the ARB over and it fits. One side is 35 spline and the other is ??????????? Now I have to call them and try and explain this to them. What are the fawking odds ????? I was going to swap the right side gear from the wrong carrier but then I thought Hey I paid too much for this to have to fix it myself. (well my brother did). ARRRRGGGH Sorry for the long rant - it felt good to blow off some steam though.
