So I went out to folsom lake, rattlesnake bar area today.
Great place for a short day trip with lots of area with trails in every direction.
Only one thing.. a sign at the start of the dirt trail that states no motor vehicles in muddy areas, are they only talking about the shoreline? I can't seem to get any info from park staff as they all have there own views of the area. At this time of year the whole place is a mud hole.
I have herd of tickets being issued out there but was not clear if the people were on the shoreline.

Technically, you're not even supposed to wheel out there (at least 4 years ago when I frequented there all the time you weren't supposed to).

The entire area has been closed to off road use for at least ten years:mad3:
I used to play out there until BLM closed the non lake side of the road and the park rangers closed the lake side. We used to be able to wheel below the high water lines at the lake.

I spent the day out there sunday with about six other rigs, we were not near the shoreline at all and had plenty of room to play. I did look for more signage and all i could find was one that said no mud bogging. A few guys said they been going there for years.. its a toss up I guess.
