I've been doing some research on a N2 setup for my airshocks, and started seeing a few places that sell a CO2 Bottle to Nitrogen Regulator adapter. I always thought Nitrogen was way too pressurized to put in a CO2 bottle / CO2 valve. I've got a good CO2 bottle already (bought it for a Kegorator, then found a shiny aluminum one), can I use this as a nitrogen bottle with one of these adapters?

Trade it in for a nitrogen tank.
That's what I did for one of my 20lb c02 tanks.

a welding shop will swap the two? Interesting...

I swap bottles all the time depending what I have extra and need :smokin: If I`m going up in size or one cost more I pay the difference... maybe $5 or $10.

I traded a bigass bottle from a mig for an argon for my TIG... it sucked because the MIG bottle was full  but that's how I bought it.

I asked if I could trade my Oxy bottle for Argon, they said no problem. I didn't ask about acetyline, but it might depend on the place. Obviously very different bottles where-as oxy, argon, c-25, co2 etc, should be interchangeable.

Guy took it right in and swapped it for me. Sold me a nice regulator too they had listed for $110 for $80, good day at Airgas for me...

NICE

Don't know why the place wont swap you bottles... they will let me swap for any bottle and just pay the difference. I've swaped oxy/acet bottles too no problems.

I have a couple of Nitrous Oxide tanks that I can't give away, nor can I convince anyone to convert the fittings to inert gas use.

It seems odd as I never have any problems having tanks filled regardless of my ability to prove provenance, but these N2Otanks are becoming an albatross for me.

Have you tried a hydro shop? Not the LWS but a place that just does hydro's. We used to do valve swaps all the time at the place we used. Never tried to do a nitrous bottle however. We would get O2 valves swaped for He or HP air. The shop picked up a ton of old O2 bottles that a medical company was dumping and switching to alum bottles. Wgot the old steel ones for a song.
