Stars & Stripes did a quick article on my cousin's unit in Iraq. This picture is from the article. What sidearm is my cousin wearing? It doesn't look like an M9 to me. (And it clearly isn't loaded.)
The picture is just a little too low-res for my eyes.

Edit to add, here's the link to the article if anyone cares.

I would assume it to be an M9, but it doesn't look like one to me.
And is it a trick of the lighting? Or is the frame silver covered? I've never seen an issue M9 that wasn't matte-black.
Maybe I'm just looking at it too hard and over-analyzing.

Okay, cool. LOL
Thanks, guess I was just over-analyzing it on a crappy monitor.

the picture is pretty small but it sure looks to me like the glare/reflection causing it to look a silver color.
the way the grip curves back in toward the bottom gives it away.

That's an M9. After enough carrying/wear the anodizing wears off the frame and they are definitely silver. Mine looked pretty close to that by the end of my time in Iraq. I see he's using the same Serpa holster I did, I really liked mine.

You can sorta see the circular beretta logo on the grip. But yes, it's definitely a beretta.
The lighting is just a reflection, probably from the camera's flash.

Come take a look in our arms room... Not much black left on a few of them.

Berettas are not anodized, they are painted....Beretta calls it coated...It has a special (proprietary) name and is supposed to be a special process. I don't remember what it is ca;;ed. But, it wears off if subjected to extreme duty.
