Just watched another movie with a cruiser in it (a walk to remember) I think I have seen probably more than a dozen movies with cruisers in them. One actually bugged me a little cause the Kid kept calling it a jeep. I think it was called midnight madness( my girfriend makes me watch some horrible movies). what movies have you guys seen with cruisers in 'em?

was suckered into watching "a walk to remember" when i saw the 40 i thought that maybe it would turn out to be a good show. i was wrong, the show was pretty gay after that and the cruiser was only in it for about 30 seconds. that was the only redeeming factor in the show, and possibly that 30 seconds wasn't even worth the remaing 2 hours of hell. sorry for the review.

In the movie Bandits, billy bob's character steals and drives a perfect looking 60 series, and later as the camera is panning, you can see a 40 series breifly.

In the Crocidile Hunter, he drives a 70 series troop carrier.

I was watching some really stupid movie last night (like 2 am) with Sean Penn stuck in the desert, and he walks past a 40 series.

I'm sure I can think of more later.
My wife hates it.

In the opening scene of the original Gone In 60 Seconds, there's a totalled red 40 in the wrecking lot:(

SLOW BURN... also a good name on how you feel if you spent money to see it! :D Love Minnie Driver, not sure how she got into this one... FJ45 is in most of the movie, best if caught for free.

In the beginning of the movie Bats there's a nice 40 in for a few minutes.
another movie I can't remember the name of, it was a sequel, big android dude from outer space, with white hair, is chasing a couple thru africa.
in the car chase, hes driving a bigass mercedes flat deck truck, and the couple is driving a 45. they're in it for half the movie.
can't for the life of me remember the title, it was a pretty shitty movie.
and Im not sure of this one, but in Days of Thunder, the scene where they go to Robert Duvall's barn and workshop, they do an aerial zoom in thing, and there's what looks to be a modified 40 in front of the house.
and yes, they all think I'm weird for saying,"hey was that a cruiser?" and hitting rewind to check in the middle of a movie.
cheers,
ryan

Another 60 in Dante's Peak and some 40s in Romancing the Stone. We usually see a 40, 60, or 80 on our local nightly news at least once a week. No 55s or 45s that I can ever recall. My wife gets pretty embarrassed in the theatre as I usually yell out Cruiser and then the Series when I see it on the screen. Everyone sort of looks at us like we are crazy. But she does it too when we are driving around. It is a positive disease and I'm helping it spread.

In Jurassic Park III there are some cruisers in front of the control center.

There's also a Panasonic video camera commercial with a green 40 in it.

It's not a movie, but I was watching "History of the 4x4" on the History channel this weekend, and they showed some 40's out wheeling, but didn't include the Land Cruiser in the evolution of 4-Wheeling.
They talked about the Bantam, Willys-Overland, Jeep, Scout, Land Rover, Bronco, etc.

Bastages.

There is a green 40 series in the movie INSIDER, when a masked Al Pacino is being driven to a Hezbollah leader, there is a green FJ40 driving behind him, Tub mounted machine gun and all!

Another one is in the movie THE PERFECT STORM, when the divorced guy drives around with his kid. It's driving behind their car and they are driving at night but you can clearly see the distingtive cruiser light's on the fender.

In a movie called "Bravo Two Zero", it's about desert storm if i remeber correctly. Two British SAS commando's are captured and brought to a prison in a 45 Troopie, best damn part of the movie.

There's also a really bad movie starring Chuck Norris that shows FJ 25's and one or two FJ 40's. I think it's called Missing in Action or something like that

I've seen more but can't remember the titles.

I think "Shaggy DA" has a 40 in it.
I know its the guy who was in all those Disney movies that was driving it.......

Might have been "That Darn Cat", but I'm pretty sure it was Shaggy DA.....

Here's a tougher question:
Can you name an old BLACK & WHITE movie that has a Cruiser in it?

I just did.... :D

You guys are forgetting the best scene with a Cruiser in it. B movie from the early 1990s called "Revenge". Anyway, Keven Costner bangs Madeleine Stowe while driving in an FJ40 in the Mexican desert. Unfortunatly, the Cruiser blows up a short time later when the bad guys come.

Check HERE (http://www.clcc.org/clcc/LC-movie.asp) for more movies with Cruisers in them.

if ya get a chance watch the History(or was it disco chanel) documenty on Black Hawk Down, MANY MANY Cruisers, they showed a close up of the front of a 40 that has a poka dot camo paint job. But the 2 hour show is packed full of 40/45/70's and a REAL good documentry!

Commercial on recently for Kohl's about half way thru they are loading a canoe or something ontop of a late model(blue) fj40.

Hanibal, there is a fj60/2

The Perfect Storm, headlights of a 40 in the rear view mirror

tons more I can't recall right now.

Stupid volcano movie?......the chick drives a 60.

'Dirty Deeds' has a 45 troopie in it. It's an Oz movie about organised crime in Sydney in the late 60's. Has John Goodman in it. They fly to some outback location to go pig shooting, and the troopie is at the airstrip. The movie is set in 1968 but the Troopie has a square bezel:rolleyes:

Has anyone mentioned 'Kangaroo Jack'. I havent actually seen the flick; only the shorts.

Is that the one where the lady is in the desert looking for some odd treasure? The 55 ends up going off on its own power, without a driver?

There is a 45 in Live From Bagdad. And I remember seeing an FJ40 in a car chase through the mountains in some action movie. It was army green, and in a line of j**ps. Might have been Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Yeah I thought that was weird seeing wrecked 40s on the property of a company that was "state of the art" everything. Would've been more believable if they were 80s piled up in that field

If "Up the Creek" is the early 80s movie with Tim Mathesson, sort of a sequel to Animal House, their green FJ55 is sort of a major player in that film.

Also, one of the coolest Land Cruiser related films is another Aussie film in it with Bryan Brown (Tom Cruise's partner in Cocktail, the F/X movies from the 80s). He plays a sheriff in Wallabee (same town as crocadile dundee), but the movies sort of slow and a little depressing. Everyone drives a cruiser, 40, 60, 80, whatever and the plot revolves around them. Except they call them "Toyotas." Can't remember the name of the flick but good movie.

the new movie "the dancer upstairs" has a 55 in it.

can't think of the title, but there was a movie that had kim bassinger as the lead, filmed in africa, had 45s, 40s in it.

i do agree with someone above that "revenge" has the best cruiser content.
