What I'm interested in is a 10k bumper pull trailer, Steel, open or full deck, hide away ramps, brakes on both axles, stake pockets, 4-6 D rings. That's about as specific as I can be as the other options are really just gravy to me. I could probably get away with a 7k but I would be running at the limit of a unit like that. I'd like a trailer that could handle either of the heaviest vehicle I've got and the curb weights of those two are just about 5k each. I like the open deck a bit more as it's roughly 500lb's lighter.

The range the local trailer places are giving me range from $3k to about $3.9k. The only details I can get as far as construction materials are for Bri-Mar brand trailers. Do these prices sound like they are in the right neighborhood for the materials detailed in the links below? Closed Deck 10k $3900, Open Deck 10k $3650. I'm open to other suggested manu's in the North East area. The closer to jersey the better!

I bought a 10k 20' this summer. I want to say it was about $3,400 right now it would be $3,858. It's this trailer with the 102" wide package http://www.johnsontrailerco.com/5_ton_equipment.php

I like the closed deck because it's more versatile for things besides cars. I don't regret going with the 10k over a 7k. My trailer weighs right around 2,600 pounds which gives me a cargo of about 7,400 pounds. It's plenty of capacity for hauling what ever I need to. I like the upgrades over a 7k like real heavy duty trailer tires, heavy duty jack, bull dog coupler. My trailer also has ramps made of channel/ angle that store in the back which is great.

The 102" wide package is another great feature, it has drive over fenders and is the width of a deck over but not the height. Hauling a full width on wide tires isn't a problem. I wanted an 18' trailer but could only find a 20' trailer in stock. I really don't regret the 20' trailer. The extra 2 feet isn't too bad to maneuver around and the length is nice.

I know you are wanting a 10k trailer, but I figured I would post. Mine is a Top Brand 12K trailer that I paid $3690 for July of 2007. The ramps come off and slide under the trailer. Works nice for hauling the Kubota with a bush-hog. Brakes on both axles. LED lights all around. Heavy duty jack. I made up the bar across the front with 4 D-rings. Stake pockets all around with a rub rail.

I run their 10k setup. Not a steel or open deck, but wood. I also only paid about 2600 for it 2 years ago. It's rated at 9990lbs so for licensing issue can be nice as it's rated just under 10k. They have a few options and I'm not sure if they've got a dealer near you. I'm happy with this trailer so far. :smokin:
