ROCKILLER

I've got a 2002 silverado HD with a diesel and I'm debating between a solid axle and an 8" Fabtech lift for my IFS. I'm not really gonna wheel it. its mainly for pullin my crawler and going camping. that and pounding pavement. what I'm worried about is the ifs components holding up to all that wieght. I've done solid axles on toyota before so I'm sure I could handle it but I'm worried about the wheel sensors and the 4wd and what not. anybody ever done this? any comments or suggestions?

It looks to me like all those lifts do is lower the suspension parts not changing a whole lot except the attachment points to the frame. I want to lift my 02 some day too, most likely not doing a SAS as mine is a crew cab and a bit too long for the trails.

If thats all your going to be using the truck for stick with IFS. it always nice to have an sfa but doesnt seem to pratical or worth the effort for what your going to be using the truck for.

I agree too. SAF is way cool on a 02 HD but way not nessary. I would go with a very mild lift.. 4"s or so and run 33's or trim the fenders and run 35's. In the long run you will be much happier and your wallet will thank you too...

I would put a D60 under it if money is not an issue. I get so sick of the ifs trucks they make me sick. Fab the solid axle in and get it over with. You will either have to get a ford axle our get a right hand output t case. still worth it if you ask me
