In the search for an engine for my buddy's Bronco, we found a Mustang motor that uses a serpentine belt. Will we be able to install all the V-Belt stuff on this newer motor?
As far as I can tell from searching the web, the only thing we would really need to do is drill and tap the block for the clutch bell-crank (as the newer blonks don' t have this hole?).
can anyone point me in the right direction?
thanks in advance.

Would be much easier to ditch it... for tow reasons: i already have a Saginaw pump set up and running on the old motor... and the reverse rotation water pumps on the old motor do not match up to the Bronco radiator.
so... can I change to v-belts? Do I have to change the harmonic balancer, and the timing mark tabs?

anyone? C'mon, i am picking up this motor in an hour. are all the bosses in the heads gonna be the same? or at least similar?

I dont see what you woudnt be able to keep the V-belts I dont think that the heads have changed becuse I bolted a serp. set up to my 84 302 that had V-belts and it fit perfictly but your are going opisite of what I did. But I dont think you should have to change the balancer and that stuff just the brakets and pullys it should work.

yes, you can run v-belts.....
But - run the serp is you can. For the water pump, pick one up from BC Broncos (http://www.bcbroncos.com) . For the steering pump - just get a serp pulley and put it on it. I have seen several people use the mustang brackets, just gotta trim a rib on the inside of the bracket and it fits.
