Hey everyone, I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce the new JD2 Model 32 Bender. The Model 32 tube and pipe bender is the latest design by JD Squared. Essentially a super heavy duty version of the original Model 3, this machine makes bending extremely heavy wall material possible. The JD2 Model 32 can bend from 1/2" to 2" x .120" wall tubing manually with little effort because of the compound leverage from the ratcheting arm and can be upgraded to hydraulic power at any time. With hydraulics the machine is capable of bending up to 2.5" OD material, including 2" .250" wall DOM. (For manual operation the Model 32 must be solidly attached to a fixture such as our Floor Pedestal). The Model 32 bender is CNC machined from high strength cold rolled steel and holds up to daily use much better than look-alike benders. The die sets are equipped with replaceable alloy blocks which eliminate galling of steel tubing.

Standard on every Model 32 is the die locking mechanism. As the die rotates while bending the drive holes in the forming die pass under the lock pin. When the drive hole is below the lock pin, it drops into the drive hole and when pressure is removed from the bender the die's rotation is locked at that position. When bending resumes the ramp machined into the lock pin will automatically lift the pin out of the drive hole. This mechanism combined with the included anti-springback ratchet allows the Model 32 to better bend thin wall tubing as well as the heavier sizes of tubing such as 2" o.d. x .250" wall DOM tubing.The Model 32 excellent bend quality is guaranteed to be as good or better than any bender on the market in the $3,000 and under range. Die sets sold separately.

The manual version is $395 and the hydraulic version is $799, less pump. Die prices for this bender are the same as model 3 die prices, however the dies are not interchangeable between the two machines.

The bender is available with the hydraulic adapter kit and cylinder (less manual parts) for $799. It is not available without some type of drive, whether it be manual or hydraulic.

Actually, both. The drive pin and follow bar pin are both 1-1/4" OD vs the model 3's 7/8" OD. The main frame arms are 3/4" thick. The drive arm bolts and frame bolts are also 3/4" in diameter to handle the extra capacity.

Bending is made easier by the anti-springback bar, as well as an improved ratchet design. The die locking pin also makes re-setting the drive pin easier as well as prevents material from becoming loose in the die set and causing wrinkles in the bend.

We haven't tested that particular application yet, but if you've got a pump capable of delivering 4500 PSI, you should be able to bend anything that the 32 is rated for.

Hey Mike, I just sent you over a PM.

The magnetic base pointer is a nicer, more rigid way of pointing to your degree wheel marks compared to the piece of welding rod that each of the dies ship with.

Who needs to bend up some 2" .250" wall DOM rock sliders? You won't find another bender as economical as this one to bend that material!

Unfortunately there is not a way to adapt the model 3 dies to a model 32. Because of the different pin sizes the follow bar hole spacing is different. The other issue is that the main pin is much larger as well, and if you attempted to drill out the center hole in the die I think you would probably end up cracking it once you started bending.

I was told by JD2 that you could mill out the hole and it would would fine. As a matter of fact I ordered, 5 weeks ago, the new 32 with only one die because I was told it would work. I will be aggrovated for sure if that is not the case.

If there is one possible way to use a model 3 die into a model 32 bender i will be very happy. I don't care even if i have to reinforce the die or re-drill the hole in the follower die.

I definitely like the JD2 stuff and their model 32 bender is the ONLY bender rated to bend up to 2" OD .250 wall for less than $400!!!

I think there are more people with a model 3 and big $$ in dies, wanting to move up to a model 32. So having the answer could definitely be positive to buyers and JD2 dealers.

And of course i came to ask to Trick Tools because they have everytime been very helpful with technical Q's.

Hey Guys,

I pulled out a model 3 and a model 32 die yesterday and took a quick photo for everyone's reference. These are both 1.5" x 5.5" CLR 180º dies. Please keep in mind this is just for reference. I can't tell you if every tubing size and CLR could be converted or if any of them could be done successfully, but hopefully this helps out those who have asked.

My .02 - You could probably make the former die work. You'll need to machine out the center pin hole but would probably be hard pressed to get the 5th drive pin hole in the die without breaking through the inside wall. The big issue will arise with follow bar. You'll notice that the hole in the model 32 follow bar is moved further back in the block than is the model 3. This is a product of the different hole spacing and pin diameter between the two sets of frame arms. If you attempt to drill out the follow bar hole, you may end up being extremely thin on the front side and could crack the follow bar on the first bend.

It does great bends and if you take the time to set it up correctly you will be VERY happy with this bender. The only problem I had with it was the die was so tight I had to get creative about how to get the pins in and start bending. I hope the die will relax a bit but its better to be tight than lose :grinpimp:

The Model 32 will definitely handle square material. Flat stock would be a little more difficult for it. The pin arrangement on a Model 4 is what allows it to bend flat stock. Basicly what you'll do is move the arm pins in close to the center and bend around the center pin.

Both the Model 4 and 32 will bend 180º. However the Model 4 has slightly less capacity on DOM compared to the Model 32 because of it's smaller pin size. We rate it at 2" .188" wall DOM. Dies are available for up to 2-1/2" OD.

It's hard to see just how the ram mounts in those pic's.
Looking at getting the manual 32 bender and later converting to hyd when my arms get tired. :laughing:. Assume these ship from the factory.

The ram mounts with a threaded swivel block between the main frame links. Your manual bender will come with the mounting holes for the swivel block already cut.

Benders and dies ship direct from the factory typically. Pedestals, and hydraulics ship from our location in Iowa.

I'll send you over some pricing on the hydraulic machine. While it may be possible to bend 2" (2-3/8" OD) Sch 40 material manually, you're going to hate doing it. At the bare minimum it will take a massive cheater bar and it will be pretty slow going. The same can be said for the 1-1/2" .250" wall and solid. We really need to have hydraulics on this machine to make bending material this heavy feasable.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce the new JD2 Model 32 Bender. The Model 32 tube and pipe bender is the latest design by JD Squared. Essentially a super heavy duty version of the original Model 3, this machine makes bending extremely heavy wall material possible. The JD2 Model 32 can bend from 1/2" to 2" x .120" wall tubing manually with little effort because of the compound leverage from the ratcheting arm and can be upgraded to hydraulic power at any time. With hydraulics the machine is capable of bending up to 2.5" OD material, including 2" .250" wall DOM. (For manual operation the Model 32 must be solidly attached to a fixture such as our Floor Pedestal). The Model 32 bender is CNC machined from high strength cold rolled steel and holds up to daily use much better than look-alike benders. The die sets are equipped with replaceable alloy blocks which eliminate galling of steel tubing.

Standard on every Model 32 is the die locking mechanism. As the die rotates while bending the drive holes in the forming die pass under the lock pin. When the drive hole is below the lock pin, it drops into the drive hole and when pressure is removed from the bender the die's rotation is locked at that position. When bending resumes the ramp machined into the lock pin will automatically lift the pin out of the drive hole. This mechanism combined with the included anti-springback ratchet allows the Model 32 to better bend thin wall tubing as well as the heavier sizes of tubing such as 2" o.d. x .250" wall DOM tubing.The Model 32 excellent bend quality is guaranteed to be as good or better than any bender on the market in the $3,000 and under range. Die sets sold separately.

The manual version is $395 and the hydraulic version is $799, less pump. Die prices for this bender are the same as model 3 die prices, however the dies are not interchangeable between the two machines.

Just for everyone's reference:

The M-Tech machines were a knock off of the older style Model 3's. The new JD2 Model 3's have a little bit different frame design, but still use the same dies. So we'll need to get you new upper and lower frame links.
