Just wondering if anyone makes a replacement bellypan for the TJ. Im not looking for a high clearance, just one thats not designed like a shovel.

if you are replacing, why not go high clearance design that offers more protection than factory? and get a engine skid to match. Kilby, rokmen, clayton...

I just hate bodylifts. dont want to hammer on the floor to make it fit either. but maybe ill deal with it and do the bod lift.

unless you are running the 241, and i doubt that you are, you do not need a body lift for a TT unless you go flat against the frame. look into the skyjacker skid. the 231 will work with the skyjacker skid plate without a body lift.

Flat Skid Plate

Currently available for TJ's excluding the Rubicons* . This skid is hand made of 3/16" steel and is as tough as they come. Eliminates all the nooks and crannies the stock skid has and will net from 3-4" of additional clearance under the transmission and transfer case. For Jeep TJ, you must have adjustable control arms and a slip yoke eliminator already installed on your jeep. A one inch body and motor lift is required. Optional 1/4" version available also.

TJ Flat skid plate: $230.00

Gofer It Offroad (http://www.goferitoffroad.com/products.htm) Has a skid that look pretty nice.

I am running the 241. i have a 03 rubi. i plan on either a D300 or Atlas 2sp in the future. so it seems i will be doing a body lift. another Q. if i do a 1" BL and a 1" MML, can i remove the stupid t-case drop spacers and keep the DL angle until i can get a CV shaft? basically does a MML do the same as a T-case drop?

i tried to order their 1/4" skid for my 98. why do they still have it up on their site for purchase? i dont know, but right after xmas 08 i got in touch with sheldon and he said they stopped making them. totally gay. that skid looks beefy. o well, i gave my monies to skyjacker instead.

ok, a little info was left out from here and the original post. Tc is dropped because of a lift? How much lift, what kind of lift, etc etc etc. what is this going on?

I would still recommend a complete package engine/belly pan combo. kilby, or rokmen. I like kilby setup better.

The t-case pretty much floats...the tranny mounts to the skidplate and the engine has two mounts, one on either side. Raise the motor up and the whole assembly tilts down, relieving rear driveline angle. When you leave the engine in the stock location and raise the tranny and t-case with a belly-up, you hurt the rear driveline angle(but help the front...not that big a deal as it's longer hence shallower). MML plus the belly-up together causes a net increase in driveline angle but that's what the SYE tailshaft conversion is for...increase driveline length thereby decreasing angle. The only thing left after that is a rear axle stretch. :D

Ya the Tc is dropped with spacers now cause of a 4" lift. it is on a 03 rubicon. I hate the fact that i lift it 4" then lose 1.5" cause of the TC drop. I dont necesarily want to gain additional clearance with a high clearance pan. i just dont like the drop and the design of the stock bellypan. Im just looking for something that will glide better than the stock design if hit. So can i remove the TC drop(still using the stock skid) and raise the motor 1" to accomplish the same DL angle as i have now?
