I cracked the carrier in my D35 (yeah I know)
My spare carrier is for the high ratio gearsets
The spiders in both carriers are shot

Basically I just put the high ratio carrier in there with no ring gear or spiders?

Anyone see a problem with this?
Will the carrier bearings fry without the ring gear there to throw it lube?

Pulled the rear driveshaft so pinion shouldn't be spinning.

Yes.

It'd probably limp around for a while like that, and hell, it's just a D30. :flipoff2: It'd probably be safe to drive around town for a while, but I wouldn't plan on any long trips until you install a real axle...

put a quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer in there, and then top it off with gear lube. try to get as much in as possilbe. i would think it would be fine.

I assume you have the side gears in there with no spiders. eh? Id think it would get enough lube. Im sure the carrier will still spin some, just make sure its full

Make sure you install the cross pin. It will keep the axle shafts from walking inward and spitting out the c-clips.
