Can Ford Dana 44 Knuckles be Swapped onto a Chevy Dana 44 to achieve the 5 on 5.5 inch lug pattern that fits CJ's. Any help appreciated. Thanks <IMG SRC="smilies/roxy.gif" border="0">

if its truely a chevy d44.. and not a 10 bolt.. then yes you can put the ford bearing hub and out onto it.. to achive the desired bolt pattern..
if its a 10 bolt.. you can take the spindle off.. and then have a machine shop turn the inner bearing surface down to that of the ford bearing.. for ball park figure of $40 for both..

No need to swap the knuckles, all you need to do for 5x5.5 is to use the Ford Hub and bearings.

You can retain the Chevy stub shaft, spindles, brakes, and lockout.

you will want the ford rotors too. the calipers and caliper brackets can stay chevy but get the 5 on 5 1/2 rotors.

you also could have the chevy bubs and rotors redrilled to the 5 on 5 1/2 pattern. just take you hubs to a machine shop and tell them what you want. i'd take a ford lug though so they can use it for size. the ford lugs are bigger than the chevy's.

I used a Chevy 44 knuckle, spindle, caliper bracket and caliper. I put on a Ford hub/rotor combo with Ford lockouts. Just make sure the spindle size matches so the bearings will fit. It works great.
