I was wondering what you guys thought about running H1 beadlocks on 37's mil's. They would be going under a 86 CJ 7 with a 3/4 d44 with Chromo's, Detroit, and 4.56. Rear is a 14 bolt FF, Chromo's, 4.56 and disks that Adam Ant built ( I plan on shaving it in the near future). I just didn't know if it would be too much weight/rotating mass for the front end. I am in college and on a budget (I liked the $1,539 mounted, aired up, and shipped), and would like to run beadlocks. I woud love to spend $3,300 on Raceline's and KM2's but not really close to my budget. I plan to use the Jeep for crawling and driving it to work every once and while.

I know I am a newbie, but I have a lot of respect for your guys knowledge that why I thought I would ask. I was going to order them from Todd @ Trail Worthy Fab and having him recenter them to around 3.5", unless you guy think differently.

Thanks in advance,
Brent

I don't know what the weight of that set up will be, but you will likely suffer some breakage. It won't fail every wheeling trip, but the axle shafts will break at the ears eventually.

They are crazy heavy...if you can behave yourself with the skinny pedal you maybe able to make it last.

Check here first before you spend $1500 on Stock H1 wheels. His name is Todd as well, and seems to have very good prices on H1 stuff.

I was going to get them from Todd. They weigh from what I have read about 120 pounds. I was thinking about taking the rubber run flats out and putting PVC in which would save about 20 pounds.

i ordered em from todd great service. these fawkers weigh a ton. im on the cheap so instead of spending more on the pvc inserts ill pull out the runflats and use a saw-zaw or band saw to cut all the excess ruber off. h1's are nice because you can start with a base stock h1 rim for now and re-center it put on a rock ring use a pvc insert and so on. i think these wheels have a ton of aftermarket support and are easily upgraded yea they weigh a ton, but like mentioned^^^^ be light on the skinny peddle till you can get a 60 front. the only other issue you will have but not till after you go a 60 is getting another set of tires other than michelins. but i must say the tire market is realizing a growing interest in 16.5 and starting to make tires in that size again.

I'm working on my rig now but it will be running recentered h1's with 38 sx's on a front hp44. I'm hoping to avoid serious carnage but we'll see, i'll let you know

Keep the mag/alumn runflat and cut down the runflat portion with a sawzall. Nice and light and way easier to build up than the PVC. The metal runflat is silly easy to modify. You can grind on it if you do it outside, pay attention to your pile of shavings and clean up afterwards. It takes a good bit of heat to ignite and looks cool when you do.

Would it be better just use loaners I got on it for now (Pro Chumps 16x8 and 315 75 r16 Toyo mudders about 35%) and save up for KMCs and try to find some used tires.

i think my h1's with cut down mag run flats still weigh in the 40lb area. i got my from tawlboy on the site for 50 a piece with run flats. idk what those tires weigh but i do know 42" rockers weigh about a 100.

alot of people run and love h1's but your gonna want a bigger front axle. unless you really like those shiny rims.

38" TSL SX tires and I have a HP44. I broke 1 axle last year when I blew a stock u-joint. I am now running Bobby Long u-joints. No more axle breakage.
I am running 4.25" BS.

Thanks for the pictures and help. I talked to my dad this morning, we talked atleast once a day while I am at school. He told me to call our tire guy and order whatever I wanted, I just have to pay for the wheels. A year ago my Grandpa (his dad) was dying and passed away from cancer and I helped out a lot. He was living at my house which made it tougher. Lately during breaks and when I'm home I've been helping out the working at the family businesses (farming, harvesting and trucking) and he said this is my rembursement.

I was pretty stoked to say the least. So I order 37x12.5r17 KM2's. Tomorrow I'm going to order my KMC's. I also got some lights and maybe paint out of the deal. It's almost like Christmas all over again!!!

Thanks for all the guys I really appreciate it.
