hey im about to swap my slipomatic for my nv4500 and was wondering if the dealer can reflash my pcm for the manual? if they can is there like a work number or something to give them that shows them what to do, bc the guys here are pretty frickin dumb. and i dont want to buy a different pcm either.
thanks in advance

Maybe the Cummins' PCM's are different, but I believe the gas PCM's are pretty generic and are flashed according to the VIN number. I needed some PCM work done and I was told to just find a vehicle with the right setup (manual vs. auto, eng. size, etc..) and use the vin # from that vehicle and they could flash it with that info. The dealer may not do it, but there are other companies that will. I went through DC Performance in L.A. I think Hughes may do it along with others. When it's all said and done, the price may be the same whether you buy one or have yours flashed.

I did the same swap your doing and ended up going to Napa and buying a new one for around $300-350.-, pretty pricey but rather get it right right off the bat.

That sucks considering you could have gotten a B&G reflash done on your stock computer that changes the tranny's and you could have reprogrammed it for performance and torque management removed.

A dealer cnnot reflash the ECM and completely change it's programming. Chrysler's systems will not let you, most likely due to the EPA laws. I was told the reprogrammed ECMs tend to be buggy but I have no experience with them myself.
