The Ballistic Hybrid Coilover / Air Shock is designed to support the weight of your vehicle as well as provide the dampening of a conventional shock. The combination of the ability to use springs plus the shocks capability to support weight by itself, takes the guess work out of finding the exact coil spring you need to use for ideal performance. Choose a good lighter weight coil and then you can fine tune the pressure to achieve ultimate performance. Great for the DIY guy. The Ballistic Hybrid Coilover / Air Shock is constructed from the highest quality materials available and is manufactured on state of the art machining centers to exacting tolerances.

-Aerospace grade "nitro coat" heavy duty 1.375" shaft to extend seal life and performance
-Lightweight aluminum body construction
-High quality spherical rod ends with 303 stainless steel spacers
-Premium nylatron sliders won't rattle
-1/2" thick rubber bumstops keep the bottom spring perch from falling out

$300 ea.

Looks very nice. Are these the same ones that Jack had for KOH?

No, he was using our standard coilovers.

What kind of spring rates would you recomend for a the rear of a toyota with an exo backhalf? Are they set up like a coil-over or a lot lighter? What pressure does the air shock hold?

DrVic723

Probably something as light as 150/175. The pressure rating is 500psi max.

Spring rates for the front of a 96 F150? i was guessing somewhere around 225/375. PM me, im interested in a set but wondering what rates/how much the air will make up for. Id love to run a set of these on my truck. :grinpimp:

That sounds about right, we are recommending about 100 lbs lighter than standard coilovers in general, unless there is a special need.

Do these fade as bad as normal air shocks? Good idea for a ~6k# rig?

DrVic723

Yes, they do fade, but that is only if you cycle them as harshly. In theory the coilover will resist a lot of the body roll and the shock will cycle less. No one has reported putting these on a 6K truck yet, so I can't offer concrete advise.

Officially our #1 best seller in our shock categories! Thanks!

Why would one want to go with this over a regular coilover or over an airshock? Not trying to be an ass, just curious.

They are nice because they offer a mix between your standard linear spring rate and a geometric rate, which offers body roll control as well as some resistance to the larger bumps. Price is also a factor, they're less than our coilover shocks, and only slightly more than our air shocks. It leaves the door open for people to easily upgrade to a coilover rig down the road as well.

These have been very popular, does any one care to comment on how these have worked for them so far?

anyone put them on a 6000 lb rig yet?

I want to run a set in the rear of the Scout and Im weighing in at 6500. Of course most of the weight is in the front with the big block so I think they would work great in the back

They should work for you no problem. I recommend the 2.5" shocks over the 2.125" for that size though, much more oil capacity. Thanks - Jeff

Please call the office and we can discuss your options. It's not quite as simple as telling you a rate. We prefer to give you springs that have been calculated to suit your needs rather than just guessing. Thanks.
