My old compressor died and I started looking for a new one, I need a 110 model and would like to use a few air tools from time to time. I may shoot some paint with it, But it would be very rarely. What are the pros and cons of direct drive vs belt drive?

Direct drive is cheaper, and louder. If it is also oilless it can't be repaired. As a general rule direct drive is a lesser machine

Belt. Everyone in the neighborhood, and you, will be happier.
Don't be swayed by some of the numbers on the oilless ones. They lie.
Oh, and you can rebuild the oilless ones. I know. I did mine at least 2 times a year for multiple years before I wised up and bought an old 3 cylinder industrial belt drive for $60 on an auction. It goes "puka, puka, puka, puka, and makes 125 psi all day and all night without waking up anyone.
