Broke a motor mount this weekend. Anybody have any tips or recommendations where to obtain replacement parts before the repair. Are there any HD alternatives?

i dont think that there are HD mounts available, but you might want to try some of the high performance racing places in the UK. otherwise try AB, DAP, or otherwise to get parts.

i can only imagine what the dealer wants for a motor mount! :D

Actually,
I had to replace my tranny mounts, and it was very affordable from the dealer, I get a club discount and such, but it wasn't that bad.

founds the mounts at atlantic british for only $13 each, so no biggie on the part price. probably cheaper at DAP, DiscountRovers or Roverconnection.

Check the tranny/t'case mounts as well. My experience is that if one is gone, the others are gone too (or VERY close to shearing).

I concur. Easier to just do them all now.

I started breaking motor mounts after my LT-230 conversion and also around the same time I installed lockers. What happened was that I had the wrong tranny mount installed for the LT-230 and none of the other mounts aligned perfectly. Thus when I would hit both lockers and really torque the engine the Motor Mounts would give way.

This problem was finally brought to my attention and I replaced the tranny mount with the proper mount and then loosened all mounts and readjusted the drivetrain so that it set a little more "comfortably". Since I haven't broken anything. However it has been a year now and I noticed the other day my drivers side mount is starting to show some signs of wear. Just ordered another mount.

Call Larry @ RoverClubhouse. While doing the ZF swap I broke a motor mount and he sourced a mount that is much better. The bolt goes through the mount competely so when they break they don't break in half like the sorry rover ones. I think it is a Toyota mount and it is a direct swap.

Seem to remember reading something a few years ago about a Jaguar part number being a cross and being a lot more rugged.

I'll see if I can find the email...

My mounts have been sagging a** for a year. Bought a set from Europarts for pretty cheap but they've been sitting on the shelf ever since.

Not yet. I have a set in the garage ready to fit whilst I'm on holidays.
BTW, Graeme Cooper Automotive (http://www.lrexpert.com.au) recommends
replacing the standard LR mounts in Rangies and Discos with Jaguar engine
mounts. (Saw this in Overlander magazine)

I e-mailed Graeme Cooper to see if he had any part numbers.

Someone figure out that Jaguar P/N. I need to replace a motor mount this weekend before the Rally.

These mounts are larger in diameter and are the same thickness.
To stop them shearing apart you might want to drill a hole straight through the mount and fit a nut and bolt.

Yep.

From Graeme Cooper Auto...

Hi Keith
The engine mount is off a V12 jaguar, same thickness but larger diameter.
