A freind contacted me about doing a weber conversion for him on his samurai. THe main consern with it was if he would still be able to pass the smog test after the conversion. I just spent an hour trying to find info about keeping the egr functional but couldnt come up with anything. Can you tell me what are common outcomes of this setup with respect to maintaining emissions compliance? Are most people able to just leave the egr disabled but still pass the test? I think we would go with the 600 kit as it has the adapter to run the stock air cleaner setup for a more factory appearance. Thanks in advance for the help!

hook the egr vacuum port to a vacuum source that opens when up to temp and you are good

I believe most people keep the factory carb and have to swap it back in when emissions testing comes up.

I run a Weber and like it a lot better than the factory carb, but emissions are not needed here. :D

My weber sucks ass. It always stalls out on big climbs.

it may not be the carb it could be fuel delivery issue on the fuel pump side. Also check you float level.

Yeah i have to take a look at it. I also am going to put a inline fuel pressure regulator on.
