: Transmision And Transfercase Problems
MYNAMESUCKS 08-26-2002, 09:45 AM I GOT A 77 CHEVY THAT HAD A 305 BUT WAS SWAPED TO A GAS EATING 350,THE TRUCK WAS ORAGINLY FULL TIME 4 WHEEL DRIVE PUT HAS BEEN CHANGED.WONDERING IF ANYONE MIGHT COULD TELL ME WHAT TRANSFER CASE IT HAS IN IT. OR HOW TO TELL.OK THE TRANSMISION,I DONT KNOW WITCH ONE IT IS IT IS AN AUTOMATIC THOU.IN THE GAUGES IT SAYS(PRND21) BUT THE PROBLEM IS IT ONLY HAS TWO GEARS SOME TIMES,SOME TIMES WHEN YOU GEAR IT DOWN DOING ABOUT FOURTY IT WILL GO TO FIRST BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT WELL JUST TO TO SECOND AND STAY THERE.ANY HELP WOULD BE GOOD THANKS:eek:
THE ONLY FULL TIME TRANSFER CASE AVAILABLE IN 77 WAS THE 203
ALSO i HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANOTHER FULL TIME CASE THAT COULD BE CONVERTED

Well it is either a TH350 or a Th400 anymore questions???

It slips because you or the previous owner hasn't bothered to properly maintain it.
Take it to a tranny shop.
Please don't touch it yourself because if you had to post what the indicator states in your dash to best describe your transmission you'll never figure it out.
