Q: Build a Receiver Hitch Carry Rack? [Archive]

I need to build a rack that I can plug into a standard receiver hitch. Great to get gear 2 and from camp.

I also have a Softride receiver hitch bike rack.

Could I build the rack with a receiver at the other end so that I could also use my bike rack with the carry rack, or would it be too much twist and torque/leverage?

Anyone ever build one and have any tips? I want to size it hold 2 of my 24 gallon Action Packers. If I don't put a receiver hitch at the back of it, I will put a '3rd' stop light in it.

They already make what you describe (bike rack with receiver in/out) , so it should work fine.
