I have a person here locally selling a 1980 scout 2 345 727 dana 300 check out the pics
they are trying to get 800 out of it but I don't know if I wanna fool with tearing it apart to resell the stuff. I know its a little sought after for the dana 300 and the factory turned axles for caster but just lemme know what you guys think on parting this pile out. Thanks

you could get your money back out of the case and axles.depending on interior shape, certain pieces could bring more dough.just depends on what your willing to do for the money.

Depends on your location as well, and the IH interest in your area.

Some areas you can GIVE Scout parts away, even good ones, other areas folks are hungry for them.

Doesn't look entirely bad from the photos. Clean it up, swap a D20 for the D300 (so you can sell the D300), drive it around for a while (with the top off, always fun in the nice weather) then sell it whole. Be easier than parting it out.

I can't see the pics here at work.... but just make damn sure it has a 300 in it. Just because it's a 1980 doesn't mean it has a 300.

Yeah i have checked on the 300 but i already have my scout so don't need one to ride in but hate to see it sitting and going to hell. Top seems in pretty good shape as well so I may try and get this for a deal and part it out.

I saw a few 300s at Nationals last year in the $400-$500 range and all they did was sit there....the guys ended up loaded them back up and hauling them home.

I have a set of the same '80 axles (3.73 gears) I've had for sale for $300 or over a year...

Otherwise, the Scout in the pic doesn't look that bad as a whole. Here in the (midwest) rust belt, you could probably get your money back + $200-300 for the truck whole.

Again, it's all supply vs. demand in your area.

I don't think I am gonna fool with it with steel prices low for the scrap thats left over and me having less play money with the economy screwed right now I'm not gonna screw with it. If anyone is interested in buying this thing though I will be more than happy to give you the info so you can contact the seller, it may make a nice starter project.
