I just bought a 03 Rubi and have plans on building it up . I would like to build my lift from scratch but I could use some guidance on this . I am sure there are posts on this but I could not seem to find anything. If any one has pictures ,measurements,Johny joints (size) heims,d.o.m, Thanks for any help John

I think you need to do a whole lot of reading before you try to tackle this on your own.. The only "lift" you can build on your own for your Rubi, without running leafsprings, is a coil spacer or a body lift. You're talking about building links not lift..
Search TJ link, links, linked, etc. The info is out there. Especially in Jeep-Non Hardcore, which is where this question should have been asked. Read up.

i think your best bet would be to order a set of X" lift springs and matching shocks from whomever you choose i.e. sky jacker, old-man emu, etc. then read what type of end links you want i.e. poly bushing johnny joint heim joint etc. the standard as far as link material goes is a min of 2" x .25 wall d.o.m. for your lowers, and i'd say 1.5" x.25 wall uppers people can say otherwise but i think thats about right. then you cut and move your brackets off the frame. side measure how long your links need to be weld them and bolt them up. and tada you have a custom long arm kit. i am doing exactly check out my build thread in the link below just don't weld like me:flipoff2:

It woudl be hard core for you and I but not here. Run to the non-hardcore forum, so far you've been spared. Everyone must be sleeping.
