Isn't that poll kind of biased? :shaking:

Don't get me wrong, BDS makes a fine product, but if you're asking for honest opinions then shouldn't there be some options in the poll?

It's like putting up a poll that says "Is BDS the best suspension company in the world?" and only having an option of "Yes" that you can select. :D

I had the BDS suspension lift on my '98 Dodge Ram, it worked well, had no problems with it except for a misaligned bolt hole drilled by the installer. BDS helped with that with a couple e-mails. Good people, IMO.

I like how you had to change your name though. When I did the research on BDS, back then they were called "Big Dick's Suspension". I typed that in my search engine, at work, hit the go button and holy shit you should have seen the results. I just slammed my hand down on the power strip power switch instantly shutting down my work PC and hopefully any "porn alerts" to the company IT center. Must have worked, since I'm still here.

Well after having two springs break and trying to get them warrantied, I found out there is indeed fine print. So much so that it makes the warranty A JOKE. Turns out you have to pay for shipping the new springs to you - so far pretty fair. But then you have to ship the broken springs back to Michigan for them to give you a credit. This of course costs more than the credit, especially if you are on the West coast. Of course they say all the reasons why they must see the spring (maybe you heated it up, maybe you added a leaf, maybe you used the wrong spring bolt), but basically it comes down to they don't believe you that their spring broke. No, a picture is not acceptable. So basically, they publish this great warranty, make you feel like they will just send you a new part, and get you to buy the product, and only later do you find out it costs less to just buy more parts. they say, "we will give you a new part. Period." Well, no, when you try to use this, you have to pay. There is fine print, and it is deceptive. Beware.

Just so everyone is clear... Yes it is true that when and if you break a BDS part we recommend you to see the local distributor. The distributor will order a replacement part for you at your cost, and you will receive a full refund of the cost of the part when you return it to us. There are many ways to ship parts back to us, that are not going to cost an arm and a leg. The part cost far exceeds the cost of shipping 99.99% of the time. Please tell me if there is any other lift or part manufacturer out there that will send you a free replacement part no matter what you did to break it. All we ask is you to cover the shipping. Bottom line we cover the part cost no questions asked.

So, will you be offering quotes here on Pirate? Will you sell directly or send us to your distributors? ...Discount code, maybe?

I'm interested in your springs thanks to one of the dudes in the Jeep forum always shouting your name from the rooftops.

RPMRacers is a distributor on here. He's got a thread going in here.

I just ordered from him and the prices were great.

so let me get this straight. I buy bds...

It breaks. I have to pay for the new part to be shipped to me, and then pay for the broken part to be shipped back. I pay for shipping both ways for this part that is under warranty?

Dude, what kind of warranty is a free replacement part, when I already paid for the kit, and probably already paid to have it shipped to me once? Now I have to pay to get it shipped both ways.

that in itself sucks.

Are you saying that a customer that buys a 99-04 F-250/350 8" BDS kit, and 3 or so years down the road one of their $400 springs starts to sag and we replace it for free that would suck??? :shaking: Or a person with a BDS 6.5" Long arm for a Jeep Jk rolls their jeep at Moab and bends every bracket and arm on a $3000 kit gets every BDS part he or she broke or bent replaced for free is a bad deal????? Please explain to me why you would say that having a built in insurance policy on your lift is a bad thing or is not necessary.
