Curious if anyone has experience with these filters?

Worth it to me if I don't have black boogers everytime I work on something. Also it won't pump all the heat outside as a normal vent setup or even opening a window. Nice when it's -30 out there.

They do a great job of filtering but of course it's not accomplished immediately therefore your boogers will be just as black - just not as big! The three advantages to filtering are 1) health: you will be breathing the dust for a shorter amount of time: 2) cleanup: the finer dust that normally stays suspended (and settles hours afterwards) will be minimized: and 3) as you mentioned - it filters from within and not pumping your heat to the outdoors.
Good investment IMO.

I installed a Delta unit the same size in my 20x30x12 shop. It works well for normal welding and chop saw dust, however even at full blast it will not keep up with constant welding smoke. For the price I would buy one again. I bought the cheap house filters from HD and placed them on the outside of the case as a prefilter. The biggest factor is the size of your shop. The delta unit I have will circulate air 8 times per hour on the highest setting. It is hard to hold a normal conversation due to the noise.

Shop is just my 2 car garage which is 24x26 with 9ft ceiling so it's nothing huge.

If it can cut down the dust by 50% I'd be happy. Gets old pulling something off the shelf and there's 1/4" of dust on it.
