AT&T and their points for doing business with 'em - I've got 350 points to spend.

Which one of these would you get? (Hopefully the link works)

I already have a nav unit so ig more those options, I'd kind of like to get a handheld for wheeling/hiking/fishing.

Looks like it is out of stock, but the ETrex Vista would be my choice. A few extra features that you might find useful. I have a Legend and it is a good unit as well, the Vista just has more functions built in to it.

I may go for the Vista anyway and just hope it eventually arrives...

If I knew exactly what model the Lowrance was, I'd compare the specs, but there's not enough info on that site :(

I think I am actually going to get the Lowrance H2O model, I think it will work ok for what I want, and it's in stock.

I got the Lowrance in, been reading through the book and playing with it a bit...

Kind of disappointing that I am going to have to source a chicom data cable, since the only Lowrance acces. is a comm. port, which my lappy does not have.

May try it out on the next trail outing and see hw the waypoints and other features work.

I took my H2O out on the trails of Royal Blue over the weekend and couldn't have been happier.

I don't use the cable because it has an SD card slot for saving/loading maps so all you need is a reader and my desktop has one built in.

You can use this site http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ to convert map data between different formats (garmin/lowrance/magellan/etc) as well as overlay the maps on google earth.

You can also buy preloaded maps for it. I have the Navionics Hotmap which is basically a topo map of lakes and rivers in the southeast.

Well crap - I totally forgot about just getting a SD card and using that to transfer files :shaking:
