: dana 44 locker

hello does any one no if a dana 44 locler from a IFS will fit into a straight axle dana 44 same spline count ??? and do the disk brakes swap over

yes and yes. lockrights and the like do, lockers with their own carrier may be specific to reverse cut gear set/ non reverse conventional. if the solid axle is open knuckle type, then take the spindles and all for the disc setup. if the axle is closed knuckle, you are probably going to need to hunt for the open type, i know of no disc swap for closed type. the calipers have no where to mount.

i guess i was wrong about there not being discs for the closed knuckle axle. i was just looking through the vendors section and it appears that blackbird custom recently released a conversion for closed dana 44&60.

A d44 TTB (reverse spiral) will have a series 3 or 4 carrier due to the brake. Under 3.92 is a serries 3 and over is a 4. Yes it can work but it will depend on your set up, gears and standard or reverse spiral.

What d44 are you wanting to put the carrier into? That is whats needed to answear your question correctly.

i am building a 70 bronco but i found a guy selling a 86 ford ranger with a custom dana 44 (IFS) auborn locker disks ,currie 9'' 35 spline disk locker rear end ,351 winsor motor 380 hp dino np435 np205 and a ranger gear spliter and lots more for $2500 my bronco has a stock dana straight axle in it
